If you need #10 wire I have tons of it. It cost me a few bucks for wire mold, a fused link and zip ties to run power to the rear. I hard wired mine and added a switch and tank, the whole thing took a few hrs, then later added air dryer, regulator and ARB stuff in cab.
I would never use my tow harness as I tow my boat and would not want to replace the harness. they arnt cheap.

Yeah, I understand all small wire is a fire fuse stuff. Just pointing out the source. For the hot lead on a seven pin, my ass-umption would be that is is run through a 30A fuse under the hood at least, and that it is not just for lights (all the little wires do that) but instead is intended to provide power to and charge various trailer accessories, such as battery (this is the case for my camper, and runs through its own fuse block and also an inverter for shore power for lights, stereo, whatever) or even a hydraulic pump for a dump trailer and the like. When this actually becomes enough of a priority for me, it may just require a little investigation in the FSM and under the hood and in the owners manual rather than, you know, destructive testing.

In my old house, the laundry room had a janky looking wiremold circuit running around the perimeter with an outlet or two and ending in a light switch. I dug into it and found that they had dropped down a wire gauge at one point, and gone back up a gauge farther down the circuit. Shall I even mention the scotch tape trying to hold the wire nuts on? I think I said something like "you fucking cunts" and called an electrician.

your source is a tundra, my point is to check your fuse box before doing this, 1st gen 2nd gen and 3 rd gen Tacoma all different then a tundra in towing. if your 30 amp to the rear go for it, I wouldn't, as 30amp on your comp is max load but its a motor and should be sized higher to handle lock rotor, but that electrical stuff that's most do not understand. I caution you in using the harness for those reasons. check your fuses first at least. Im not sure 1st gen are 30 amp nor am I sure any of the Tacoma's are. why I said to check. Not trying to argue but you seem hard headed about this
    .
before you do that mod ask yourself these ?s
have you checked to see if your harness is 30amp?
do you use yours for towing?
what is lock rotor amp on my compressor?
do I have time to run a dedicated wire and be worry free or am I just lazy as fuck?

Been working so damn much lately, haven't had time to take a day off or check my vacation time. Looks like I just hit a month of paid time off. Should be a fun Spring/Summer! Couple more weeks of slaving away and then time to start having some fun again.
