A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
It’s at the house, I’m an hour away at work.

Just turned 13 years with my company over the summer then in September they sat all 38 of us building Engineers down and told us they outsourced us to another company so now we all have shitty benefits and work for a really shitty company didn't even offer any kind of packages or anything and some of the guys have been there for 25 to 30 plus years so needless to say I'm looking for another job and it just so happens that this selling the building that I manage so I'm hoping the new owners will pick me up they already showed interest so fingers are crossed.

Anyone ever sell a vehicle to carmax? I have the KBB trade in value in hand, just not sure how much they low ball that number. I am expecting a little bit under, but do not want to waste my time with an appraisal if they are going to be overly picky. Rather just dump this car than deal with the hassle of a private sale and waiting for someone to bite.

The kbb is a soft wholesale number. So is the carmax number. What kind of car is it? You might be able to get a little more than that number depending on the dealership

    What car?

We sold my wife's Kia Soul to them before moving back from Cali. They give you two prices and will honor the higher of the two- those being the KBB buy it now value and their Carmax value. In our situation their Carmax value was higher then the KBB buy it now value. They gave us more then trade in but less then private party.

For us we were short on time and just wanted to be done with it, could definitely have gotten more if I had the time to list it and sell it privately, but we didnt. If they are somewhat close to you it is worth checking out- took about 30 minutes, and most places you can make an appointment. If you'd rather just dump its definitely worth checking.

I think they are actually able to offer a little more $ because there is no haggling, either on the buying or selling side, so they never really get "taken" as a dealer, and while the car prices are competitive they do tend to be on the higher side from what a remember when I was looking for my Tacoma.

Selling my brothers 2012 Volkswagen Jetta. Time is somewhat of the essence as I just got him a company truck and do not want to be managing two car payments. Unfortunately we do not have title in hand which complicates a private party sale - hence why I am looking at carmax. The one in Westborough is close enough to me that it may just be the easiest route to unload it.

My father in law sold his old car to them and was pretty happy with the whole process. Seems that you were as well which makes it a little more tempting.

We had the same problem, my wife still had a few payments left so we didnt have the tittle in hand either, and had to sell within 2 weeks due to the move. They took care of all that. I went in on Tuesday they gave me a value, we went back on Wednesday since the car was in her name she needed to be their. We called ahead and gave them all the info they needed so they could call Kia Finance and get all the details on the remaining payments. Walked in, signed some papers and left with a check for the balance of their offer minus the remaining payments, we were in an out in less then an hour.

I would consider it again just to see what offer, if its close to what I would be willing to take the connivence of it makes it worth it, even for a little less $.

Worst case, they low ball you and you walk away... doesn't cost you anything but the time to get the car valued, and then gives you a bottom $ for a quick private sale.

I just went to the one in Norwood last Sunday. Place was huge, clean and pretty quick. I went to sell the Jeep and they were more than the dealer trade but less than KBB cash offer now.

They already told you guys to stay home huh. I got the "If you don't feel safe driving in, work from home tomorrow." line already myself.

Hey do you know Ed Braley? I think he works in the same DC as you.
