That's all cake by comparison, use loctite on the torque converter bolts and it would be smart to use a dab in the bell housing bolts but not explicitly necessary.

That would be Motorcraft Gold coolant mixed with the oil. Filled a cylinder and hydrolocked it. Things are going good.

I decided to say F it at work on the parking lot. Can't wait till tomorrow for the new tires to be installed lol. Good amount of snow wish it was mud. Also knocked my front passenger tire off the rim bead so I took a small torch, hot water, and a small 2 pound sledge hammer and got her back on. Least enough to hold air.

 

That was by far the hardest thing I've ever done on this truck, took me three hour to line that tranny up and get some bolts going!

 

They're all original they're still doing great, no issues

 

550k on original transmission? That's impressive do that on a modern day truck. My dad's 2000 f350 rides, shifts, runs like a ox cart. A v10 5sp trans 8" lift on stock leaf springs with lift blocks. All shocks blown not a bushing in sight and it's on 37's. Changing gears feels like the fluid is concrete. And he still brags that is truck is the best lol. He ran it with no oil pressure. Idk how it still runs lol

 

Sounds like your dad doesn't know how to maintain a truck..

 

Tell me about it if any car manufacturer wants to build the toughest truck known to man they need to call him to test it. I find it hilarious when he has to fix anything on it. Cause all you hear is cusing cause it's been 18 years since the bolts have moved. And when I work on mine every bolt moves except the real stubborn ones. Like leaf springs bolts in example.

 

It's getting there. All I have to do now if connect the driveshafts, wiring harness, and put the dashboard back together and I'm all done with this swap.

 

Imagine having to take apart two transmissions just to swap out the output shafts. Then there was the chance that I did something wrong since it was my first time working on a trans but thankfully everything came out good

Ah yes, that's the cheap way to do it. I didn't want to tear into the tranny so I just bought a complete A340F with transfer case from the same engine for $450.
