    Hey guys,

I installed switchback LEDs for my front turn signals with resistors to avoid hyperflash and I noticed that there aren't really any threads explaining how to do this when I was looking for one, so I figured id do a write up of how I did it..

I ordered the parts from a TW Vendor @csjumper2003 (JumpersLEDS)

I received 2 LED bulbs, 2 Resistors, 4 Self taps for the wiring, and 4 screws to screw the resistors into place.

First you want to put the resistors onto the wires for the turn signal

Here are the 3 wires I had

    IMG_7151-1.jpg

the 3 wires will be: Positive (always on), Positive turn (only on when turn signal), and negative. you may want to use a multimeter to figure out which wire is which or a test light since apparently wire colors differ based on model and where your truck was made.

For me, the black and white wire was negative and the orange was positive turn. This is important cause you dont want the resistor on all the time or it may get to hot.

**I heard this but idk how true, - the black and white is negative and the thicker color wire is positive turn but I would test it just in case.

You want to put one end of the resistor on the NEGATIVE and the other on the POSITIVE TURN SIGNAL

    IMG_7169-5.jpg

then make sure you screw in the resistor to a metal part on the truck since it will get hot, you don't want it touching plastic or anything it can melt.

    IMG_7172.jpg

put in your bulb and you should be good to go without any hyper flash.

    With lights on:

    with turn signal:

if you have any questions you can PM me!

hope this helps anyone wanting to do this.

on the SR and SR5 models, these are easy since your truck come with 3 wires for the front turn signal.. the TRD trims though is a different story since ours only come with 2 wires. i had to change my stock adaptor to an adaptor with 3 wires for this to work, and the rest is pretty much the same steps as yours.

    good write up bro!

Was this a kit or something? Or did he just put the parts together for you?

If you are looking to do something down the road take out those t-taps and solder the wires.

Yeah I thought about that, I probably will after I retrofit and get my switchback halos put in. then solder the wires

i actually changed mine now from the white-amber-white to amber-amber-amber. so i have the LED daytime running light (white) and the amber corner lights ON all the time.

well, i cant say it has no REAL use becuase i do like how it looks. just like people swapping their grille, does it have a real use to change your grille? i dont think so, but it would make it look better. just my 2 cents =)

So it makes the turn signal white and not amber?

Makes the turn signal white until you actually flash the turn signal. Then it switches to amber while flashing. Then back to white when normal

So with your DRLs is it white or amber? I bought some switchbacks thinking that the DRLs would be white, but they are amber. They aren't white until you turn the headlights on... Not what I was expecting/wanting...

OP? I have this question also, since I just installed white raptor lights and I’d like to do this upgrade provided the DRLs are white.

I have these switchbacks for my turn signals/drls and they work amazing. They have built in load resistors so no need for adding them.

    1) will these work in 2018 SR5 with incandescent bulbs
2.) are these white for DRL? (Mine are amber. I’m looking for a White DRL that turns amber on turn signal, then back to white.)
