How many travel days are we thinking it'll take?
I was thinking 10 days would be good with like 2 days of travel each way. That would be 4 days of travel, 6 of exploring. 7 total days would be a little short.

Looks like two 15 hour days for me from western PA.

I expect fuel there and back without exploration will be ~$700 at 15MPG and $2.70 a gallon. Maybe a thousand dollars in fuel for the whole trip? Maybe a bit less. Maybe $1500-2000 with food and lodging. Depending on the camping/hotel schedule.

Yup probably 2 days out and 2 days back. But we could plan it so we drive through cool shit each way too. Make it all worthwhile you know?

No worries bud, not like this is a super closed-off group thing, I'm hesitant to say "the more the merrier" but a decent sized group wouldn't bother me at all

I'd prefer this trip to be mid to late August, early September. Seems like that's the best weather conditions.

The late August into September might overlap with the FJ summit? I think that occurs during/around labor day. Ouray will be jammed packed during that event I hear.

Also the people planning on camping it out for the trip, are you pitching a tent each night, RTT or sleeping in the truck?

We should be ok with missing the summit. Looks like it's the end of July

Well that's good. Guess I was way off, on that event timing.
