yea i have v6 and it does have an electronic throttle. all the front end stuff was the same, and i used an unknown v6 auto when i first did it, and also used the 4 cylinder front driveline in it

You didn't have compatibility issues with the ETCS-i system?

So you were running the 1996 transmission in your 2003 v6 with the electronic throttle? Huh...

Oh okay, because if you have the electronic throttle system any non 03/04 transmission wouldn't work.

I'm pretty sure mine is not a PreRunner. So it's not possible, or just more work than it's worth?

    If it’s 6 lug then you’re fine

No PreRunner is what you want. PreRunners are 2WD drivetrains on a 4WD chassis and suspension. It's relatively simple if you have some mechanical inclination.

How was that 5-speed swap? I've been looking for someone who's done a manual swap on a 2nd gen.

Were all the holes there to mount the clutch pedal and master cylinder? Did you have to swap the engine ECU and wire harness?

holes for the pedal were all there, but i had a template for the master cylinder. kept the auto ecu, just jumpered some wires together to make it run and drive and also keep the cruise control. check engine light. im looking into doing a manual trans computer to fix that

Yeah, Unfortunately mine is not a prerunner. From what i have been able to research it doesn't look real promising for the 4x4 conversion, just because I love taking stuff apart as much as the next guy, but unless its not as difficult as what I'm reading everywhere I won't have the time or resources.

Ah that sucks, you can only do it on PreRunners. 5-lugs have a completely different frame and suspension than the PreRunner so you won't be able to do it.

Unless you want to swap the whole frame, lol!

    So did Toyota HB ;)
