Well it makes sense. If you incease tire diameter you are essentially rising gear ratio so Rpm's will decrease. Like I have 3:73 gears and now with th 33" tire they are like 3:55's theoretically so lower RPM's and the speedo reads lower than actual speed. Please correct me if I'm wrong but this is how I've always known it.

I think that was only offered on older sport models which are 3.73. Get a true track, they are lower maintenance any ways.

Since this thread was brought back.... i will quote my own comment because I did end up making some of the changes I spoke of.... i still haven't gone to 285s, but i did regear front and rear diffs w/ 4.56 from ECGS, also added true trac in the rear. Bought them pre-set up and swapped them by myself in a weekend. Did the Lexus GX470 big brake swap as well. Adding the true trac to the rear was a great addition, works great with the "limited slip" the truck has already. The 4.56 gearing is, in my opinion, how the truck should have come from the factory. I was worried the revs would be too high on the highway, but it is not bad at all. I am really happy with it. Planning to do the cab mount chop soon, then will go to 285/70-17 or maybe 285/75-17...

id be cautious of towing 3500lbs in 5th, your auto transmission temp will be getting up into oil cooking temps.
