Tail gate theaf!!

Really, that's all good for a happy ending and all, but in reality don't go OJ on the perpetrator- good advice to bring a friend as a witness to the whole transaction if you think it may be your stolen tailgate, and then make a police report after you procure the stolen merchandise. At least if they don't do anything for you, it will be on record if the perp does this a lot, may help stop him eventually.

 

Opened mine up yesterday and marked it while I was messing around with putting a hose clamp and washer lock on it.

 

That's a fair cop! I might've been thinking in my little "ideal world". But yeah...key fits, call the cops, be a proper and upstanding citizen, do your part. As much as we'd all like to flog the bastards, we do live in a society here...dammit!

 

Yeah, I'd be doing a great acting job too trying not to do what I really wanted to do if I met up with a seller and figured out it was my tailgate the guy stole! I wish California didn't have that two party permission audio recording law, otherwise I'd wear a hidden camera and make the perp a YouTube star on internet, TW and in court.

These are all the components that they replace because of my tail gate getting stolen and the damage that they caused... It’s pretty CRAZY!!

Nope. They listed TG for sale the next day which we were able to identify over a scratch Dave’s German Shepard made. We messed with the guy pretty damn good tho. Dude, shared his location on the post and we took well advantage of to scared him a bit

 

I wonder if Toyota dealerships hire people to steal tailgates . They can make more money replacing one than selling the truck !

 

What the hell is this invoice? They chopped wires and took your tailgate, or did they do more damage to the truck?

4x4 off-road decals for the bedsides? 200 dollars for an "inner panel"? 170 for a "handle"?

Were you really charged a 5th of the value of the truck new for replacing the tailgate?

 

Policy made a report but it went nowhere!!

 

It’s crazy they made a few scratches on the side of the truck bed..

 

They sure did insurance took care of everything..

 

Bummer, stealing tailgates to sell I can understand, but vandalism while doing it is just senseless
