Is the starter a pain to swap?

That is a great write up, a man talented with words.
I always thought the longer then stock shackles move the axle to the back. But never cared enough to do al the math on it. Was the new leaf from alcan cost effective?

That is a great list of experiences, and funny how a road can curve on a person. I have been injured but not enough to make me leave.

Got smashed? Do I even want to know what that entailed?

Usually when I get smashed I do stupid things like call people hookers and get slapped.

hahaha, I noticed that too in the pics! I think I've got like ~6-7 inches.

    Yes, probably. For which part(s)?

Thanks. I can't wait to get the Stealth6's installed, but the steelies look good too! And yep, axle is much better!

Thanks - it's fun writing this stuff, and fun to share. Define cost effective, hahahaha! For the quality, I think so, but they aren't cheap. I think I'm into the packs about $800 or so at this point.

After working in the woods almost twenty years I can't even imagine anything else. I just feel free there. I know it sound kinda sappy but it like the last frontier every day. Then I drove home in a highway. To a city with a shit ton of people. Kinda don't like the last part.

The 22re's were easy for me to do, I have yet to do a tacoma.
If it clicks when you turn the key on then off..... then that is a sure sign. I would have it off and tap it with a 1lbs ball peen then try starting it before stressing. The benix will stick with age.

Total cost? Still sounds cheaper then a new pack, plus the benifit of tweaking how the ride is.

Did your pinion angle improve as well then.

Thanks for the multi qoute reminder:thumbsup:

Like to have part numbers for both the pack and the new ones if they have one yet. I'd like to recenter mine and get a better spring in there at the same time. I'm running a boss 3" up front and a simple ADL in the rear. I have a 400 pound job box full of tools and my prospecting equipment I carry full time. Going to a mid hight bed rack and rtt soon too.

I had my dad turn the key while I had my hand on it. I can feel it click, guess I’ll go study the Haynes book and YouTube.

Tap it with a small hammer. It should work. Just don't hit the plastic on the solenoid.

Have you made sure your positive and negative leads on the battery are clean and tight?

Don't swap it. Just clean it and rebuild. Super cheap and easy. Think it's like 15 bucks for parts at the dealer. The contacts get corroded

Yeah, $800 total cost for the packs, including the center pin adjusted forward (which if you were just ordering packs new, you'd do when you order the pack).

My pinion angle didn't improve as part of moving the axle forward - in fact, I think it probably got slightly worse, because the lift is the same, but now the axle is closer (so the angle has to be greater...if only slightly).

I've got a BOSS 3" up front as well - I'm happy with it, though I know it's not the best - nice price/perf compromise though. I'll PM you the details for Alcan - it's less about part numbers with them, and more about what you ask for, since all the packs they build are custom.
