Shoulda told me you were doing a floor. Is it a hardwood floor?

I have one of those pneumatic flooring nailers you could’ve borrowed.

Both an air locker and a bushing. They solve separate problems.

Thanks Floyd, but my folks have their hearts set on using “old fashioned nails”

It’s slow going pre drilling and hammering all of these in...

It fits the theme of their house. My Dad is a great carpenter. He built their old post and beam house from the ground up.

It’s a LONG story, but he bought the land from my Uncle who lived next door. My Uncle died and his Son, my Cousin bought my Uncles property from my Aunt, his Mother. Never paid her, didn’t keep up on his taxes, etc. since the properties were linked, apparently the paperwork was never properly finished..., my Folks ended up having to leave in the end. Many more details, but that’s the summary.

Before my Parents left the old house, we stripped it completely. We’re now putting their new house, a total gut and refinish, together with all the lumber etc. from the old house.

It’s very labor intensive and quite time consuming. Both of my Parents are sick. My Dad has Huntington’s, my Mom Fibromyalgia, and chronic pain. Thus, no money for a new materials really.

My Dad can’t really work on the house any longer, so my Brother and I do what we can.

It’s come a long way. Luckily, my Farher was well enough to get the house to a pretty much finished point. My Brother is quite good at working with wood too. Me? Well, I can hammer a nail and buy lumber here and there lol.

Anyway, here’s some of the house so you can see the style. The kitchen came out of the old house. Well, most everything did actually.

He does. He’s actually much worse than what I wrote. I’ll tell you about it someday. No one wants to read all that. I know I certainly don’t want to one finger type it.

    Question for the chainsaw guru's
I used to work for a farm many moons ago.We purchased a piece of property that we had to clear trees from. When i asked about bar oil, they said just use motor oil (new 15w40)so i did.Cut a lot of trees that way, never had a problem.I don"t cut much wood but when i do thats what i use.
Whats the problem? Tell me so i can educate mee's self.
