My back and legs are fine. Just my butt hurts a lot after about 30 minutes sitting in them.

The description is misleading on these - they are NOT sliders. Do they provide some level of protection - a little, but I'd never rock crawl with these. They function as a perfect width to stand / step on comfortably - I can easily stand on them while loading and unloading gear from my roof without any issue and helps my wife get in and out of the truck. They are also almost the exact width to come out from the doors such that you don't end up with door dings. I have gotten zero door dings in all the places I park - I just make sure not to park next to any thing that has doors higher than my steps! :)

I agree with most of this but one thing missed by most is that the rear door of a 4 door car or SUV hits the vehicle next to it at a much higher and different area. The rear door edges on these end above the top of the rear wheel arch where the sliders etc. on our trucks does no help to protect us. In other words , the side steps / sliders only protect against the front doors of cars that park next to us.

Do you then "put the lime in the coconut?"
Dammit, I'm always on about not telling a joke twice to my son. And here I am...

OP, I recommend against steps, unless you get a lift. They're not that helpful and I've already bent mine (not even 'wheeling). I'd go for something functional if anything.

Oh, and no offense...but I thought my 17’s OR grille was hmmm ugly as they get. I stand corrected :). Just the grill.
