K, get the thing swapped and put back together. Still only get a click when I turn the key.
Took the original starter and had it tested or whatever and it works.

Any ideas? Is there a fuse or something I should look at?

uh...well no 4runner ever came with a 60 gal tank, definitely not 2nd gen 4runner. Especially a tank that could still retain the spare. Not without some black magic wizardry. In which case buy that shit haha

Check your battery next. Could be dead. If its not fully charged but show full voltage its fucked. Or the other way around.

I gotta find the ad, it was a flat rectangular design. Maybe not 60 gal, something in that range.

Wait..so when you have it hooked to jumper cables it only clicked?

That looks custom as hell. Cool though.

2nd gen 4runner tank is about the same as our tacoma ones just 15.5gal i believe.

Here's the thread I found it from - IIRC it's made by an actual company: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f180/auxiliary-fuel-tank-toyota-276422/

Ahh yes a NWMP tank. Usued to make one for tacomas too. Long gone company now.

And the starter contacts where fine?

Check your wiring then. You have a bad contact somewhere.

Where would you start? I assume the battery.

I had a family member drive it while I was out of town for 2 weeks and they never said anything weird happened.

Blackdawg's frank build is the only tacoma to my knowledge that is not a single year. It spans across all the years of the first gen tacomas lol

Yeah there should be a good sized cable running from the battery to the starter. Check the grounds on everything too.

And I'd still get your battery tested. Super easy to do and just gets it out of the way.

I have 2004 double cab Door Panels & Components, Lexus ES300 seats, and a Nissan Titan rearview mirror. I feel the Frankenstein thing. Lol.

I’ll go get it tested, everything still works though like radio, and those lights before I unhooked them.

Do we have a serenoid or whatever somewhere?

Still gotta weld them to the Tacoma brackets but they're comfortable as all hell. I sat in about 100-200 different European luxury car seats at the junkyard but not a single one felt as comfortable as the Lexus ones.
