Picked up a 2017 4x4 4 cylinder 5 speed truck last month! Will post some good pics soon! Great truck, very glad that I was able to get the 5 speed before the 2018 model year!

In my experience, going with 265/75 tires and 1" wider wheels with 4.5" backspace my mpg took a hit even though the tire and wheel combo is pretty close to oem weight. I was seeing 24+ on hwy but now I'm lucky to see 21. If I was to do it all over again, I'd stick with an 16x7 OEM alloy, and stick to skinnier 245/75 tires to keep my mpgs. Also before anyone says anything, it's not summer gas vs winter blend.

I also had the sticking tach issue and after it has been replaced, no problem since.

My tach has never given me an issue, but my speedometer acts up anytime I drove for more than a couple of hours at a time. I've been neglecting to take it in, due to the lack of success on replacements. I need to just get it in, also for the seeping rear diff.

So I just dropped my truck off for the 5k service today and just heard back from the dealer. I asked them to check the transmission fluid and they said they would not since there wasn't any concern with it even though the shifting is terrible and I have a pretty bad clunk in 1st gear. He said I was welcome to pay for them to check the tranny fluid buts its "very expensive".

    Does this sound right?

I've only seen the sticky tach needle but wouldn't surprise me if your speedometer sticks as well as it's all one unit. It's just defective and I'm sure Toyota has been seeing more complaints about it in the SR package that's why they updated the 2018's. Only the utility package gets our tach for 2018.

Wouldn't it be great if Toyota bit the bullet and upgraded all of the SR clusters to the sr5 models? One can dream...

Here in the mid-west all the SR's I have seen on cars.com have the SR5 cluster and cruise control. If the SR would of had them back in 2015 when I bought my SR5 I would of bought a SR. I'm going to trade it in this year for a SR and get one without the Munchkin seats.

    https://www.cars.com/for-sale/searc...TypId=28880&trId=25020&yrId=35797618&zc=62450

These are the SR "Access cab" model's listed within 150 miles of where I live.

Is that only on 2018s? That's supposed to be standard on SR's now because of the additional of the TASK stuff

No need to dream, that's exactly what they did for 2018 aside from the utility package. You cannot upgrade to the SR5 cluster on the 2016-2017 because it will not be compatible with the center display and steering wheel buttons.

Yes I believe so. I just noticed it the other day when I was looking around on cars.com I was wanting to step up to a '18 TRD Sport, 2WD but with the $13,000+ I was going to need to finance for 7 years I can buy a hell of a nice tonneau cover, mudguards, and window tint for allot less. :) Dealer is going to let me swap my OEM alloy wheels and my OR grille so my truck will be like I want it when I sign on the dotted line. They are going to give me $21,000 for my truck seeing how they will have new tires and steel rims on it.

Ya, but I don't want to start over on a new truck. Too much time/money already invested in my 17.

There is a guy on here that swapped clusters and steering wheel buttons. Relatively plug and play, minus adding a ground wire for lights. Pretty damn cool how he figured it all out.

As long as my cluster works, I don't need it to be fancy.

Boy, a working cluster would be great, haha.

All I really want is tire pressure readouts and distance to empty. That would've been nice

I like digital speed readout instead of looking at the speed odometer needle and I also like the tire pressure readout for each tire. Shortly after I roll off I look to see if I have a low tire before getting to far down the road.
