Still snowing sideways here. One thing that's nice about being in an apartment someone will clean the spots out for you as long as you move. Only have to dig out the plow pile for my gf, I plan on just driving right through it :D

With the truck its easier- I can just run it off the roof rack to a tree.. but If I am camping with the truck I either use the platform in the shell or bring the big tent and air mattress hahah

The only time I slept in it fully in the back country I was bikepacking so I brought the hammock since its so much smaller then the tent... but for back packing I don't think its really that much lighter then bringing the tent. It is nice to be off the ground though.

    Too much.
I agree with it being about as heavy as a tent (in some cases), but not having to carry poles is awesome. We have a place up north with a camper, and I haven't slept in the camper in 3 years. I get to drunk snore as loud as I want.... When I camp with the scouts, I'm very well rested (75% of my troop hammock as well)

Because they look really neat when it's snowing hard. The flakes catch the light and refract it all weird.

I loved doing that in my apartment. I think I've told this story before but after one of the big storms years ago I had helped a neighbor dig her car out and as I was digging she said oh I'll help you once we're done. She got into her car and pulled out of the spot and immediately drove away. It wasn't really a huge deal since I just jumped into my old Xtracab and powered over the bank. I was cleaning it off and the woman comes back on foot and says something like oh, I had planned on helping you when I got back (?). I just shrugged. She then said she got stuck in a snowbank down the street. I think she was inferring that she wanted me to help get her out. I said I had somewhere to be and hopped in my truck and drove away.

Normally I wouldn't mind helping, but when I help and you literally drive away after saying you'd help me, no thank you.

Just came back inside from clearing the driveway. Was out there for about an hour.

Wind was blowing, but not really snowing anymore.

Got to work by 9:30am. Worked until work ran out. No FedEx, no UPS, no USPS so not much work. Night job gave up & closed as Nuno said.
I went with the Prius today - narrow tires, light as a feather, 500 airbags, traction/ABS... & 100 more for sale in the paper for under $5k, so easily replaced.
Don't cha know I was passing folks on the way to work. Got done a little before 2pm - still no plow @ work, went to the Prius which was sitting in a hole clear of snow (aerodynamic cars!), but snow depth was up to bottom of my bumper in the lot.... Didn't look good
but .... Started right up, drove up & onto the snow over it & away! That little thing was awesome. Then on the Federal Road (1 block visibility) & on the Hwy 84W - that stupid little thing was an absolute snow mobile. Seriously awesome in the snow, passing whole lot of cars doing 20 (tailgating each other - like 1 car length tailgating!). Passed a blue FJ with the drivers window full open - do their HVAC's suck?
Parked up the hill from my house on the flat street, grabbed the shovel out of the car, walked to my house, dug out the snowplow berm, dub out a 14x14 spot to park the car, walked back to the car, drove down the hill & into my spot.
But I'm like @DoubleRGirl , I don't drive on it until I shovel it, otherwise it just turns to ice.
Thought about walking to the garage & using the snow thrower since Nuno (@Cativelense ) didn't (LOL), but WTH, it's light fluffy snow. ...2 hours later I'm 2/3's dug out. Good enough until the wind slows.
Dang. Weather man just said to start shoveling NOW. Dang.

Just shoveled again. While I had the garage door open some snow got in the taco. I'm just as upset about it as you guys are. Luckily I don't think it caused any permanent damage. I'll assess again in the am

    Try this out...

Make a sign that reads "ask me about my experience with this business", then pace back and forth in front of the business on public property with the sign. See how fast that gets your deposit back.

Me too but thankfully our driveway was really long so my dad had a tractor. After years of plowing in the open cab Kubota with a 5' plow, after I moved out he got a 3/4 ton diesel with a 10' plow. He does the driveway in about 1/4 of the time and the truck does a much better job pushing the banks back. Lots more power.
Same here but I haven't snapped a shear pin since I've owned it. I inherited it from my cousin and it's got to be 25+ years old by now. I replaced the belts and sliders last year, spark plug the year before that and cleaned the carb once. The thing is a tank!
