IMG_2337.jpg Great idea, I did try this for my ccw but it was to hard to lift up. So I took this idea from another member here and made a lockable compartment.

Time to make my build page!
I agree with the always CYA approach, but in Wyoming any person who can legally buy a handgun has the right to conceal that handgun. It's always good to check local laws and regulations, but having a handgun stolen from your truck is the worst. Trust me on that one. Speaking of which, would the dowels prevent a legal and responsible gun owner, with a multi-state concealed firearm permit, from putting a handgun under there? Thanks for a cool product!

Hi Dave, glad you like the product! You're right, local and state laws do differ. I think most hidden compartment laws actually do revolve more around illicit substances rather than concealed firearms, but I do not want to take any risks. I do not condone storing anything other than electronics and valuables in the compartment. If you have a firearm I would suggest a locking safe of some sort for your truck. They make some slim ones that fit under the front seat for example if you don't wanna shell out the big bucks for a console vault. The feet are about 2" tall on this if that gives you an idea of space though.

That is really great. We have had a rash of vehicle break-in thefts in my neighbirhood so I don;t keep anything but old reusable grocery bags in my truck but then there is my garage remote that I sort of hide but your false bottom would be much better.

Hey Tom, sorry to hear about the break-ins! That is exactly what prompted me to build these. My wife's vehicle was broken into when we used to park on the street before we bought a house with a garage. This is a perfect solution to keep things out of sight.

@scottc got the last one I built, but I'll be making more soon. Will post up when there are more available :) Thanks everyone.
