Northwoods also has a location in La Mirada (I think they're actually called Clearman's?) that I went to recently for the companies Christmas party. We only had ~8 people with us but you would think the service was overwhelmed with a party of 50. The ladies in the office picked it because "it has snow on the roof!"

The peanuts tasted better than the food.

Awesome hole in the wall Mexican food. As authentic as it gets, lots of delicious food for cheap. Make sure to get their horchata if you go.

    Peppercorn Grille
    553 Pine Knot Ave.
    Big Bear Lake, CA 92315

Fine dining for a relatively good price. Good service. Lots of tasty appetizers. Found the filet mignon and salmon tantalizing. Good place for a date after hitting the slopes if one is spending some time in Big Bear.

There is no snow in Big Bear this year considering the pounding we got last year :pout:
Man made BS but that's it.
    I've been there. Good food!

+1 on Cuca's. We used to live in Loma Linda and ate their frequently (I think kids eat free on Tuesdays) We now live a ways away but still plan outings out there so we can eat there on occasion.
I don't know if it's authentic or not because i'm whiter than rice and enjoy it, which usually means its some watered down white washed Mexican food. lol.

Doesn't have the best reviews on Yelp but their pizza is great. The kids love their hot chocolate. I didn't care for their other dishes though. Pro Tip: If you get there right when they open, chances are no one will be there. It's a small mom & pop and two of the times we went (trying to beat the lunch rush/mountain traffic) we waited in the snow for 10-15 minutes until they felt like opening.

Is it just me or would it make more sense to apply the TW Member stamp of approval if these gems are required to have both delicious food and the ability to host a TW meet? (Plenty of parking space, etc.)

If not this will turn into a Yellow Pages, and we have Yelp for that.

It’s hard to find a good place to host meets nowadays. Makes the list that much better, especially for future reference.

    Just my 2 cents.

You know what’s funny, I was in self reflection mode while walking the dog and checking out TW, and in that weird mental space I somehow thought I could Tony Robbins the shit out of this thread, and when I got home and had some ice cream, I realized I didn’t know what the heck I even said, so I went back and edited a couple times trying to save my ass but it was too late cause I had already exposed my butthole.

    Alright thread, as you were.

Your restaurant list criteria should include clean restrooms, hot waitresses & dog friendly.

This is my favorite pizza place in Big Bear.
I had lunch there during our yearly San G. Trip last year. It was great.

@Redeyejedi where is that pizza place you brag about?

Has anybody been to a BBQ restaurant in San Marcos? I'm not sure of the name maybe it's Phil's? It's in a newer shopping center. The line was out the door, The food was good, The atmosphere was friendly. The only draw back I can think of is that it's self seating. No table service. Order your food and look for a place to sit.

I'm looking for confirmation of the name.

Also right across the street is Arts District Brewery with good beer, skeeball, table tennis, and corn hole.
Also across the street is Angel City brewery, but not nearly as good or as good a vibe as Arts District brewery. Which does serve food so as to stay on topic.

Have not. Only heard great things about it though. Never a bad review minus the long line.
