ECT Auto Turn ON Module

Chillax, I will still offer the standard plug and play ECT mod.

This is an experiment with @20tacoma17 . I prob wont even offer these full production because it will be quite a bit of custom work.
But my plan is to 3d print a clear button that goes in the seem of the shift knob. This will be your ECT(boost mode) button. Thinking of having it illuminate red/green depending on being activated or not. Super clean, stealth, and placement right where you can hit it anytime

Yes, the OEM button could still be retained

 

I like it. However is the illumination necessary since the light on the dash shows still?
Thinking it would cut down on mod time and costs. Pretty cool though

 

Just throwing out design ideas. And Yes, although the ECT light on the dash turns on..that does not determine if the ECT MOD is active or not.
Example: you could have the mod activated, press the ECT button and have the dash light/ECT mod OFF. (yet its still activated next time the truck is on.)
I think I might just do a single red color(ON) and nothing when off. So when activated it blend right in with the shift knob. IDK..

For me I think a non-mod remote inline switch would be perfect but I’m not the masses obviously. Slight solution to my first world problem of having to reach to hit the button. Just an easier way to turn the button on and off.

 

I'll never get one though. Just like I'll never get a regular ECT on all the time mod. It's just impossible. My F5 game isn't strong enough for your releases.

@mesojdm, still waiting on the ECT module too, but since you're up for new projects...How about illuminated headlight/wiper stalks? Lame that Toyota couldn't make the lettering translucent and throw a 50 cent led in there...

always thought the button should be like my 4Runner ... right on the shifter... but then the ECT button didn't really do anything...

 

My '96 Corolla had the OD button on the shifter.

My ‘89 Volvo 740 turbo did too. Four speed with a button overdrive. So weird IMO.

^^^I thought I was the only one, so I was keeping this gripe to myself. Felt like a dweeb memorizing the headlight mode sequence so I didn’t have to use my phone to illuminate the headlight stalk in the dark. The lack of backlight in the headlight stalk is pretty lame, but my crawl control dial is lit up like a Christmas tree!!!!

 

I love my auto headlights, but I have to turn off my lights daily to go through the guard gate at work, and I still can't remember. I need an auto auto-headlights override mod with user programmable GPS geofencing.

 

I am with you bro. Sometimes I need to go out of “auto mode”, and my brain just can’t process the number of clicks to get back without turning my headlights right off. I think I have it memorized now, but time will tell.

 

Any eta on the original one?

 

All the tings you make for 3rd Gens makes me want to get one
