High pitched whistling sound in front end when in reverse

I agree on the trans filter. Common issue with transmissions extra loud or whiny especially in reverse could be a clogged up filter causing increased pump pressure.

 

Must be very old Buicks . I just Edited the post above ..Older Chryslers warmed up in neutral .
- 47 with the wind chill up here . I hate this weather

 

Mid '60's dual pitch converter equipped, Yeah.

 

I have had my hands on many of those in the past . Miss those old turbo 400,s with the dual pitch

 

Shoulda never done away with it. Got a brand new one for the Pontiac, one of Kenne Bell's last ones.
So @ -47C, if it's sunny, you get to look @ 3 or 4 suns. Bonus! It's warming up to -10C by tomorrow so the frost heaves will be thick as thieves. Then major water main breaks will start. Oh, the life of the North!
