Hey, I hope I'm not replying to a post from too long ago, but what wheels do you have? They don't seem to be the 3rd Gen TRD Pro wheels.

they don't stick out that far on the side, if anything they're flush with the doors. 70 to 80 pounds doesn't sound like much, unless I have to lift it over my head and place on the roof of my lifted truck, and on top of that, it's big and odd shaped.

Thanks for the info. I really like them.

EDIT: What size tires are you running on them?

and I want to avoid the bed extender route because I'd like to still be able to use my bed and I dont want to worry about scraping the back when I'm on a trail heading to a remote small lake in the mountains and etc.

hmmm, as long as the heights matches the height of the thule cross bar on my roof, it'll work.

Tony, I’m looking for just one rack as well for my SUP fishing board. If I find a set of Thule Xsporters maybe we can split the cost? Been looking for good deal......

ok cool good to know. now i need to see if it's possible to get just one rack and not a pair.

i'd be good with that, but you're located across the country from me.

For longer composite kayaks, 17-21 ft., it's best to support at least 8 ft between racks for travel on bad roads. This uses Thule feet, bars, Yakima saddles (which also fit Thule bars), and Thule artificial rain gutter mounts.
20170508_104103.jpgThe rear shell mount is supported internally with an aluminum tube bolted to steel frame inside of tailgate.
