Dude that’s a new one I’ve never heard of. So driving straight is fine, but when you turn it breaks a cv? Tight turns or light turns?

Ya that’s super confusing. I legitimately haven’t stopped thinking about this haha. Is it the inner or outer that has been blowing?

    Always passenger side?

The inner is droop dependent, not steering.

Edit- if it is your passenger side always, then it’s definitely your transfer case

Edit2- or something with the ADD actuator is locking up the diff side, so when the wheel turns it blows the inner apart, which also makes sense. ADD is my guess. I’d just convert to Manual hubs if I were you and eat rid of ADD

Did you recently install a used front diff? Or is your entire front drivetrain OEM (with the exception of the CVs)

No, It's not the transfer case. it is sending power to the front diff just fine.

Yep - Something between the front diff and ADD is causing binding. when you take a tight turn on pavement the some thing is not allowing the two axles to spin at different rates. Either the ADD, Diff or a combination of the two.

I think the next step in diagnosing the problem is to put the truck up on jack stands, with the truck running put it in 4lo and let it idle and make sure everything has engaged, then kill the motor and leave it in neutral. Then go to the front and try to turn the tires independently. If the front end is "Locked", both tires can not rotate at different speeds of each other, then there is binding happening somewhere in the front diff or ADD causing one CV to snap. OR they may rotate independently unloaded and it may be binding when under power.

Have you done any diag into the ADD if it is working properly?

I was thinking more in terms of his center diff lock and AWD 4WD system. Brainstorming helps. To say that it sends power to the front diff just fine is fairly rudimentary. I agree it’s unlikely due to what Assburns just stated.

I'm thinking its gotta be something binding up in the front diff binding up. The ADD seems to be working fine and the T case as well. Or you have a shitty CV? lol

just come over to Danny's on Sunday and add to our mess of broken shit.

not exactly. as long as it's just little things i'm fine and the landlord doesn't get pissed. when i start taking tires off and putting the truck on jacks is when they don't like it.

Found this screenshot on my laptop that I rarely use, lol. They grow up so fast

@digitaLbraVo and I think that's Alex @MADSTEEZE behind me, probably his first time hitting a trail other than Azusa and look at him now, lol. This was Rowher circa April or May of 2016...couple months after I got my truck, all stock.

    Thanks to @eon_blue and @uhplifted
I had a great time running White Mountain yesterday.

Many thanks to @uhplifted for riding shotgun and getting us back down the mountain after I started puking up everything after the run.

Same thanks goes to @eon_blue @uhplifted for getting my tires aired up while I crashed in the cab.

And of course its going to rain/snow up there this week :)

Looking forward to wheeling with you guys again.

Thats what I thought at first but then I found out my wife was also puking it up back at home. Might have been the food we ate the night before.
