So far one of the two appointments blew me off because of the weather. He knew I was driving all the way up from ri too so that's cool

Yesterday skied the BEast and it was really good. I torqued my knee a little bit so I have an excuse to take a few days off during the cold weather.

Definitely a zone I have really wanted to check out for a while now. But haven't got there yet.

    Jealous that you got out.
Was thinking I would do a little afternoon ski somewhere.

I know the PP pretty well. We can connect sometime. I think there may be a good amount up there. Was watching the radar yesterday.

I get a ton of bite with the 4wd and the rear locker. If I need to push hard I just put it in low range.

I'm sure having the backhoe helps. The chains were to help traction, tractor had plenty of power and 1st gear was geared low but it didn't get traction to push the 5' plow. He never used a ballast box or anything, just the sodium-filled rear tires. If your driveway is paved, you likely wouldn't want to use chains anyways, it'll just eat up the pavement. He had industrial tires on his also, not the deeper V-tread tires that yours does.

The hoe makes a HUGE difference in traction. Without the counterweight on mine it just spins the tires instead of digging in, and my counterweight is only a couple hundred pounds.

Got to love people with that kind of respect for other people's time. Makes you want to just hug them really hard. Around the neck.

I second that feeling of jealousy. Wish there were some better options close by for trips in storms like that. I'm trying to decide if the drive to ME is going to be worth it for mostly Sunday, I'm expecting most of SR will be on wind hold till then. The powder is calling....

    Hos are good!

Do you have the filled rear tires also? The new stuff they use is like molasses, sugar based rather than sodium based so they won't corrode the wheels.

I agree about having respect for people's time. Without fail, every time I have a meeting where someone has to commute in for it, they call 5 minutes after the meeting was supposed to start 'Hey Mike, traffic's bad, I'm running late'. No shit, if you were here on time, we'd be talking face to face you dumbass! We had an old super that used to lock the door at the time the meeting was supposed to start. If you weren't there, too bad. He'd lock out his own team, it was pretty funny.

I most likely will, just a lot of driving time. Places will be open but with a pass to SR I'm trying to keep the extra costs down by going elsewhere. My hopes is that since most of the advanced terrain there is in prime location of catching wind that it'll stay mostly untouched till Sunday. I don't, don't have a splitboard, but someday it would be great to do; have the skills for back/sidecountry but it's a problem of equipment and location

My rear tires are filled with air only. I wish they had the beet juice in them, but never got around to doing it. They had some weather cracking when I bought it, so I figured I'd have to replace them soon anyway so there was no point. 5 years later I'm still on the same tires and the weather cracks haven't gotten any worse.

Used to slowshoe with my board on my back for years. Gotta say...the splitboard is sooooo much better, but I still had some awesome days with or without. Do you have shoes? Pack that you can lash your board to? So worth it. If you want a true surfy experience....it is awesome.

No I don't but, they can't be too expensive to find a pair. As for a pack I'm sure I could jerry-rig something for that. That is always the goal no matter the day that I'm out; which is why I usually end up in the trees at resorts. Most people on the mountain don't have the skills to last in there leaving more untouched snow.

Where do you usually go for hiking in/up?
