Well missed the boat on the Aeron (ARN) aviation coin... they did a coin burn today that pumped the price way up.

POE has been getting worked over pretty hard by the pump and dump people. You can watch it happen daily, goes up, then crashes. If you avoid that mess, it's steadily increasing.

Totally. A lot of scared money in it right now. I’m sitting tight there for a while... I’m watching it fall out of the sky since hitting .30 last night...

 

I bailed at 120%. Stupid move lol.

 

RDD is one of the alt coins I'm typically in. RDD, XVG, and Verium are 3 that I'm typically in most of the time. I actually sold all of my alt coins yesterday afternoon for BitCoin... The alts have had some great runs the past few weeks, and BitCoin was heating up again (look at evidence of that today...) so I took the 12% on BitCoin and am looking to buy back in the AltCoins here in few days.

I ride the "waves"...

 

That's never a stupid move.

Part of the reason I got into crypto (from stock day trading) was I was having MORE 120% gains in a shorter amount of time than I was in stock.

I'd have a handful 120(+)% days in the market (my absolute BEST 24 hours in stock/day trading was 157% in one stock) and I'd have a few a week in crypto (my best day in crypto was 312% in 24 hours in one crypto) so I naturally moved some of my day trading account over...

That's to give you some perspective that you hit a home run. Congratulations! That's awesome! It's never a dumb move after a gain like that, because I can guarantee you- someone, somewhere else in this world got thrashed by that falling knife when it came down and it wasn't YOU.

 

Looks like ripple dropped a bunch. Good time to scoop it up or should we wait for it to fall even further?

 

That's one of those "it's your call" kind of things. It's like sitting at the Black Jack table with a 16 and the dealer is showing a 7. What do you do, right?!?

I- personally- think the alt coin market is going to drop a little further as more money is going to be put in the larger coins- ETH, BTC, etc... I'd wait for a 5 to 6% increase/decrease in a 24 hour period (with strong volume) before I got back into it.

 

Well, it was at the highest it's been yesterday and dropped from a peak of 3.81 to 2.83 and in the time you responded, it's back up to 3.00...I think I should pick some up asap. Currently sitting at 14% loss from yesterday; was at 20% loss just a few minutes ago.

 

According to the book, you hit - but then again, my money is clearly sitting in this and not Blackjack lol. I'd say this thread is about as close to a handy card for crypto as you're gonna get short of paying $$$.

 

That's a LOT of volume to slow down (remember, volume works both ways here). I'd look at the 1 day chart to get an idea of what I'm talking about- just for reference.

 

You're right. The book does say hit. In that situation, I always ask the table (at least those to my left) if they're good with me staying before I do it. Ya know, courtesy, right?!? How many times have we hit and won, and how many times have you hit and lost.

I know what the book says, but then again, this a pretty new game here.

 

I'm losing on others (AST, APPC) so it will all even out. I'm diversified in many things, and right now I agree that crypto is the wild west! It's fun, but I haven't moved any serious money in it. The bad thing is that by the time this all settles out and somewhat legitimizes, those wild swings will be gone and it won't be interesting anymore.

 

I am as well, but my account will STILL swing a $1,000 any given day... I think we still have a few years before this market really gets less volatile.

 

I rarely play because a) Even though I always "know" what I'm supposed to do, I tend to screw up under pressure and it affects the folks around me which hurts my feelings and B) I'm a cheapskate and losing $20 in 20sec also hurts my feelings lol.

 

I agree it will be a while before it becomes main stream and accepted. Right now there are a LOT of people that have zero trust in this chinese ponzi scheme of doom made up from thin air. It's hard to explain to people in a couple of sentences, and most people associate it with the dark web and nefarious things. It's funny to me, because the profits sure are real.

 

I just dumped all my Alts for BTC hoping to catch this spike with the plan of buying back in on alts in a couple days or so.
