Bummer to hear the bp51s are not meeting expectations as I think those are quite a pretty penny right?

I don't own them, BUT the past month I've been researching alot because i want to go to a mid travel setup. Other than the finish on the bp's I don't know why anyone would spend the money on them when the performance is mediocre. Countless threads have brought me to this conclusion.
    1. Fox and King
    2. ADS
    3. Icon, Toytec 2.5(Radflo)
    4. Bp51's

This is all my opinion from reading alot. Best bang for your buck is Fox and King's.

I'm personally gonna go with Fox's. That shiny finish on the King's will quickly dissapper after one nice and salty Ohio winter

Wow man, that's a bummer as I think BP51's have a decent price tag on them. I def approve of your list though from what I know, granted I don't really know the capability of BP51s at all. Not that I ever advertised the BP's, but it sounds like I wouldn't recommend them if they fair that low on the list for their price point.

The price kills me on them, plus parts availability for rebuild is probably a huge pain. It's like everyone couldn't wait to get them. And now you hear nothing.

I too am going with the fox. They have pretty much the industry standard that others have followed for decades.
Plus there DCS is head and shoulders above Kings adjusters in every way. :crapstorm:

That's true, they were just released right? Considering they are from ARB, Im not surprised they had a die hard following up front without community testing yet.

I only know two people with them and they are very happy with them. @Dissent86
I wonder if the reason you hear nothing is because there happy with no issues ?

I'm sure they are great but not for me, I've read they don't like too much preload at all, some are having problems with noise from them, they ride fairly stiff kind of like Icon. And don't they use a twin-tube style shock similar to oem?

Hell I'm to the point now, I've been back and forth between Fox and King's so much I'm beginning to question if I even really NEED them. I wheel 8x's a year maybe. It's crossed my mind to go with a bilstein 6112/5160 route. Ive been so indecisive lately about it.

If I'm gonna spend 1500+ on coilovers it'll be extended travel not glorified standard travel coilovers. I do know that.

I dig what your putting down brother!
I’ve also wondered , mostly to myself if the 6112 and 5160 would get the job done?
$2000.00 with UCA’s and Dakars compared to $3500 plus.
But I keep falling back to the point ..will I be happy with the ride?
I hit trails and more a few times a month, so kinda just don’t want to do it twice !!

I don't hit the trails as much as I would like, but having quality suspension helps me enjoy my driving regardless of whether its on or off-road. I do love knowing that I don't have to think much about the terrain with quality stuff either as I know it can handle it. I know not everyone can use that rationale though to validate their suspension upgrades.

For on trail use, I value suspension as one of the most important components on the truck besides skids and sliders.

I went with ADS to replace my current OME setup. Haven’t installed them yet but hopefully soon. I still need to order the rears. ADS sends you a questionnaire about your rig and builds it to what you use your rig for. Unlike the other companies, correct me if I’m wrong, you just get it straight from the box and no custom settings...

I think it depends on the shocks and if they are for the "OEM" stuff. With my King triple bypasses DSM already had a set valved for the kit that I am using them on, but they went ahead and valved them further for the exact app. King could have done similar, but they had a 6-8 week back log with all the Baja guys swapping out their stuff.

I hear great things about ADS.
    But I’m a Fox guy.
It’s kind of like going to my favorite restaurant, I know what I’m going to eat before I get there. But I look over the menu anyway ...and even tho a lot of things look great I’m still going to have my go to steak!!
