I saw a bunch of hikers out there yesterday but I didn’t pass any on Friday. I for sure would’ve noticed your truck and snapped a stalking photo

I'm still trying to sell a pair of toytec coilovers with 3" lift. One shock is blown, need to replace both just to make sure.
If I sit on this long enough I'll just ....... I don't know what.

Anyone have any steelhead fishing places they like to go that have camping not in a park? I'm new to steelhead fishing and just been going to the parks. If you don't wanna give up your spots I'd understand :)

Is there any steelies above the dam? I've never fished the Deschutes, usually nearer the coast.

From what I've been told not much in the Deschutes. I went over to the Alsea river beginning of the week but mostly just fished boat ramps.

Alright guys, don't mean to be the uptight guy right now but this needs to be said. This weekend I was riding passenger in my girlfriend's car, we're heading North on 97 in the left lane and we're passing cars doing ~5-10mph over the 45mph limit which is normal for 97. Out of nowhere we have headlights aggressively tailing us, maybe 2" behind our hatchback if that. I look back and notice that they're 3rd gen headlights with the wannabe Raptor led's, it was dark so I wasn't sure. We're still passing cars at this point and merge to the right in the first opening there was. The Tacoma then passes us while we're still merging doing easily 10 over our speed. I notice that it's a truck I recognize from the Land Cruiser group, it was the blue Taco with the Alucab setup. I was going to mention something on their Instagram but I thought this was a better place for it since the group is represented here.

If you're in here blue 3rd gen, stop driving like a dick. Especially when you slap a metal bumper on your rig. If you're not responsible enough to realize the damage you can do to other vehicles with a metal bumper then you're not responsible enough to own one. If we would've had to slam on the brakes, your front end would've been halfway in our vehicle. This is Bend, not Portland, not LA. You're literally 15 minutes from everything and not only is the pace in this town slower then what you may be used to but when you drive a truck that sticks out like a soar thumb then it's not the smartest idea to drive irresponsibly. If we were in my truck, I would've gone 44 on the dot and not have merged over. And don't get me wrong, I like driving fast too but I know when I can and when I shouldn't and I definitely try not to intimidate other drivers on the road because I drive a lifted truck, that's the kind of shit bros and teenagers do.

Rant over. I hate that I had to come here to say this. @MusGolan maybe bring up road etiquette at one of your meetings. This is one of those reasons why "Bend sucks, don't move here" is a thing. Resume typical Central Oregon BS.

Guy exceeding speed limit passing cars complains about another car exceeding speed limit and passing cars. Makes sense.

JK, but he probably saw you had a modded Tacoma and wanted to join in on the fun of passing cars with you.

Ha, I suppose that does sound like a contradiction but 5-10 over in an open lane is a big difference from 20 over and tailgating. We weren't in my Tacoma, I doubt he would've been doing the same thing if we were or maybe he would have, I don't know. You familiar with Bend's roads?

Rant accepted and well said. I have the same complaint. It's ridiculous when one is already going over the limit, even a couple mph, that some one will tailgate. I usually slow down or break check. If your late, accept that your late. I leave as early as possible and am also late at times. There seems to be an increase in noncourteous drivers around here. I have little patience for them.
Driving like a sick won't just increase the potential for auto damage but seriously increases the potential to completely ruin lives.
Don't be passive, I say post it on the other site. It'll bring awareness. If the guy has an attitude about his behaviour then he's just a total jerk. We have no control over that.

I don't want to stir things up and blast their social media page, hoping this will be enough to get a conversation going at one of their club meetings. Unfortunately, with the crazy influx of people moving here from bigger metropolitans the city mentality comes with them. I'm one of those people who moved here from a bigger city so I know what it's like, but I rode my bike almost everywhere I went which made me a defensive driver. I won't brake check but I sure as hell won't move over. It's simple, think about more than just yourself and don't be a dick.

Agreement on the conversation aspect. I'm big on communication. I moved down/over/up in elevation from pdx, driving there has gotten to be a nightmare. Almost tagged a few people this weekend due to their offensive driving. I drive like gramps.
Sadly, I'm moving back for a while. Just gonna be gone during the week for a year(ish).
Still, I say post it up. Get a conversation going.

I'll avoid going over the hill at all costs, I'm good with our slow speed zones. We were tearing it up pretty good this weekend out towards Derrick Cave though, cooking desert roads at high speed is a totally different game.

I thought I was only getting tailgated because I had California plates, even with Oregon plates I get tailgated EVERYWHERE I drive.

I don’t understand why people think it’s a good idea to tailgate a 8000 lb + truck with a lift gate and full metal bumper (my work truck/daily)

I encounter all sorts of stupidity on the roads, the change in the last few years alone has been nuts!

Don't get me started on roundabouts. People don't know how to use them.

I've been giving people a thumbs down when they don't signal out of roundabouts, hoping it hits harder than the bird.
