HALP is reserved for when you drain your transmission and refill it back into the radiator.

Now I'm looking at new U joints :goingcrazy: I get a random shudder upon taking off, but it's only occasionally. Next time I'm under the truck I need to see if they're good. At least new U joints aren't TOO expensive.

From my little research, that shudder is the carrier bearing. Or the actual name is center bearing support.

If I replace all the U joints, I'll likely replace the CB while it's apart since it's only an additional $49 for a Spicer through summit racing, bringing the total to $135 for new U joints and a new CB for the rear. Not TOO terrible.

I get a shudder too but it's usually when I don't give enough gas. At least I think that's the reason. If I "over" gas a little it seems not to occur.

    Could be center bearing though.

Same here! Sometimes the truck acts up and I feel like I have to give it more gas on acceleration to not get the shudder. I'm not sure if it's me or the truck though.

That won't be until at least next month. This month I'm pulling my CV axles and rebuilding them, as well as the ECGS bushing, which is enough maintenance for this month.

Well at least I know I'm not the only one it happens too. I tend to think it's the truck but I've been wrong before.

So with the oem DS, you have to take the ujoint out to access that bolt. I got lucky multiple times today, and i have a different type of joint. It holds the ujoint in with bolts. So i didnt have to remove the DS from the truck. Which is good and bad.

My center support bearing was $88 today. Im not complaining though. Im driving again.

@AR15xAR10 gave me the links for the greasable spicer ujoints. They are through summit. When i get my OEM DS retubed, ill get those done too. And like you, get the CSB done so illhave a fresh new DS.

    Yes it is.

I'll be lucky if I change my oil and get the airbag light fixed.

    So far…

I am sitting in the couch at my house in the dark. Long week. Debating on whether to take a nap or go eat wings and drink bourbon. Nap sounds much easier right now.
