It is a blast! But also a bit nerve racking at times. Definitely has some pucker moments and will really test your rig and driving abilities.

A buddy and me went to Uwharrie in late October and had some fun. You can probably run 75% of the trails in a day. We ran a bunch of trails on a Saturday, and head d out on a Sunday. It’s a nice trip. Weekend trips are about all I can afford, from work, right now. Come spring and summer may be worth taking some time off. Anyone here been down to Portsmouth Island?

That must’ve been right before you came by the shop. I’ve done Uwharrie twice. First time was in a day, second time was over 3 days and it was much more relaxing being able to take our times on running everything instead of being go go go.
Haven’t done Portsmouth Island yet. I’ve done all throughout the outer banks plenty but none of that is on the beach, just next to.

Check out Jason Koertge on YouTube he just moved from Florida but he has some good videos of the further south area.

@MattJakobs you must be from Conte’s! Yep that was right before I came by! Portsmouth looks interesting, I’m intrigued because you have to take a ferry, which tells me there won’t be a lot of people out there!

I remember when you and brandon were telling me about how difficult it is. I know even with my moderate suspension and 33's I'm nowhere well enough equipped for what you both describbed. From what y'all said even the go arounds are pretty damn difficult. It deffinately did not sound friendly to trucks that aren't built rt for it. The rocks in the pics I've seen dont appear to be friendly to tires any smaller than 34's and a winch is a must. Which I don't have yet. Do you have any pics

I've got a couple in my build thread. We really didn't take many bc it was a high of like 12 or 14 or something. We really didn't piddle around outside the trucks much bc it was so cold. Just got out to spot each other and then got right back in.

    Haha that’s me.
And I don’t think it’s very busy at all. And pretty much the nearest place you can actually camp on the beach

That’s what drew me towards it. Seemed like a decent place to take some people out and camp and enjoy people’s company. Sounds like we need to plan a trip somewhere! Even if that trip is to greenflash or something and then go from there!

Last time @4x4runner2002 and I tried to go to green flash, they were closed. So definitely down
