Dash painters or Wannabes---SOLD

I'm more confused after reading this thread in it's entirety, than I was from only reading post #1.

 

If you bought a new one from Toyota isn't it the same thing? How would a new one be different to fit your radio than this one?

 

No difference at all -- mine is just about 25% cheaper!

 

Why did you need a new one that was the same as the old one? Wondering what the difference on the fit of the radio was.

 

The difference is in which color Dash trim you have and in which radio you have (or want to have) in your truck.
Since there are 4 different color variations and 2 different radio size openings, that makes for 8 different part number possibilities that are available from Toyota. This is confusing -so confusing that most parts guys at the parts counters (at the dealers) don't tell you the right part if you ask.
I swapped out my 6 inch (non premium) radio for a premium 7 inch --therefore I needed a different dash panel -- I "bit the Bullet" and bought the $225+ new part from Toyota.
I am selling my dash panel I no longer need --That should clear it up for all of you "naysayers" Amen!

 

I was just wondering. I didn't know there were two different radio sizes in a 3rd gen because I don't have one.

 

That's what the 3rd gen thread is all about -- we all can learn something --especially me! My other (only other) Toyota was a 1989 Camry which I gave to my son when I got the Taco. I went from 3 vehicles to 2!

Well actually, I felt if I told the friends over here that I had a part for sale (in the 3rd gen For sale section)because that part is seldom if ever offered on this Tacoma website. This is Why I posted in this thread. Does that bother you that much?
I have looked for this similar part (used) for the last month and a half; I could not find a used one --I had to buy new.
I am offering a perfect shape used one. Nothing wrong with that --as I see it!

 

That’s actually a nice favor for the people making oopsies. Or the people who plan on putting a light bar in these things.

 

I don't believe any one has a problem with you posting or selling your item.. there was just confusion as to what the hell was going on. due to your wording. I thought you where selling some never before seen new item for third gens. then I saw its just a bezel and I was thinking maybe its modified some how but nope just a OE bezel up for sale. I completely understand now what you did but not at all at a quick glance. It was a good attempt at marketing don't know if it actually helped any though. good luck selling your part
