All look the same to me. What makes one brand of lift look different from another especially actually installed on truck.

Lots of haters on this forum. Starting to see a trend. Pretty sad how many assholes there are just cuz someone doesn’t wanna blow 4g on a lift kit that they probably don’t use. Thought this site was for fellow tacoma owners with the same love for the tacoma?!

I think the majority of them do it just because of the fact that the spacers COULD end up messing something up, but I’m sure there are some people that just say it to make people mad (there’s always a few). But the Bilsteins that everyone suggests aren’t much more expensive then a rough country lift.

 

I think the OP got the reaction he did bc people on this forum of Tacoma Enthusiasts have had or know of experiences that were rather negative pertaining to Rough Country. Yes they are inexpensive... but there are more alternatives with in the same budget... Bilstien... OME... even slightly used lifts... he asked the question and you can't hate on the reaction and response he got..

And yes I am very well aware of the more budget kits available, I have one on my truck and many trucks of acquaintances of mine.

Pretty easy for all the responders of the OP to maybe just suggest a more budget kit that is more quality instead of rip him. Just my .02

 

Bilsteins are great products. I’ve owned multiple sets on diff trucks.

Your bump stop won't be doing the stopping anymore, and your shock will. This is the outcome if you off-road with a spacer lift.

Technically, the OP never asked about rough country spacer lifts. Maybe he is referring to their drop bracket lifts...

I'm running one of the inexpensive forum favorite lifts. 5100s set at 0 with 887 coils. To be honest, the truck kind of rides like shit. Really harsh over transitions in pavement at speed. Slow speed stuff is great, but I didn't by a brand new truck for off-road exclusive use. Granted, these trucks are entirely too squishy stock, I just figured not preloading a coil would have made the ride better than it is. Especially with all of the fan boys on here that say "it rides better than stock".

I wouldn't be opposed to giving a 4" rough country drop bracket lift a shot, it's not much more money than I have invested in a 2" lift. Generally, I'm not a fan of drop brackets, but I also realize that my truck is for 95% highway use, losing a little ground clearance isn't that big of a deal.

 

Took longer than I thought for this to show up.

 

I'm not hurt lol. If y'all know are so solid at What's good and bad then give me alternatives to a nice 2" to 3" lift for no more than $1000.....$1500 max....this should be interesting
