Toyota Platinum Extended Warranty

Hmmm... 2018 TRD OR.
I paid $2k, 10 years or 100k miles.... thinking I should cancel now?

 

I just paid $1300, 10 years/100K for my 18 TRD OR.

 

Do they still offer the 125k plan, and is it platinum? Who sold it to you if you don't mind?

 

Mine was the platinum plain. 10 year or 100k.

I bought it from my local dealer. Normal price was 2k.

 

Isn't this something that can only be done at time of signing?

 

No, you have until your factory warranty expires.

 

Interesting I got my extended warranty through the bank as I know it's usually cheaper than from the dealership.

 

In my experience, manufacturer warranties are better than aftermarket ones, depending on coverage/price.

 

Question, I turned down about everything finance dept offered me. I just couldn’t get around the numbers they threw at me from $532 the numbers jumped to $620 for a 5year warranty. It just doesn’t make any sense to add warranty now if I’m getting 3 years free anyways, I said to myself.

My question is, now that i’ve read this can, I still add warranty ?
Platinum sounds badass to me

 

+1 for Troy. I used him for my Audi Q5 that I'll now be trading in for a Taco. I had warranty work done on the Audi honored by the dealer - no questions asked - to the dealer it looked like factory extended warranty since the firm servicing the extended for Audi and the one he sold was the same.

 

So we're thinking the Platinum Plan MSRP is <$2k (negotiable), and it extends out 10 years or 100K miles added to the factory 3/36 or goes 10/100k from purchase date. Is it a powertrain warrantee, or bumper to bumper? And is it "local" or valid at any Toyota dealer? Do they have "Black Friday" deals on it? Questions/Questions.

 

Valid at any Toyota dealership and if you check the forum $2k is too high to pay.

When I bought my 2018 Tacoma DCSB manual I asked the finance guy if I could think about getting the warranty later and he stated, "No we have to get this figured out now." I know now that this is absolutely false.

You are able to inquire about the extended platinum warranty up until the 3-year 36k warranty expires. I was sweet-talked into one and canceled 2 weeks ago. They did tell me I could inquire about one later but I would have to pay full price.

 

What a lying ass dealer you bought from! "Full price" later on is also a lie, half these dealers don't know what acceptable pricing is. They probably don't want to know either!

 

Jeeze it really makes you wonder how better off they would be and how many more sales they would get if they just told the damn truth without trying to hide something from the consumer.
