Ok so I have decided on an Icon lift for my 2017 DCLB Sport. I will be using Light racing UCA and Dakar leaf packs. Decisions on these parts are I don't cary weight now but fingers crossed one day I will afford a RTT hence the Dakars. I would love the mex Icon leafs but wow they are $$$$ and the shocks that go with them are even more $$$$!!! SPC/LR UCA's because of ball joints and cost.

Now my decision making is coming down to remote resi or no remote resi front and or rear?

I will be street 90% and my off road consists of FSR's and trails in my area of BC.

Usually you don’t need remote resi’s unless your taxing the shocks too much to overheat them. So if your bombing through the desert you may need them. I’m assuming BC is British Columbia, so no definitely no desert there. One thing to consider though is if you want the cdc control to firm up or soften the ride, you have to have the resi’s for this option.

Agreed on your points! Not going CDC control as of yet. maybe if i get into it more in the future which is one of the reasons I am considering the remote resits, so i can upgrade later. I know about the cooling effect the resi gives and probably won't need it for that but thinking it could also be a preventative maintenance thing to have the resi. keep oil cooler and keep oil and nitrogen separated better helping it perform longer? its about a 400$ difference....

And yes BC is British Columbia!

It’s what got me to spend the $$$ for resi and then the adjusters just naturally became a given lol

I have icons on one of my JKU’s.
But I am doing the fox 2.5” DCS front and rear.
I have used fox in the past and am very happy with them.
But then again I really like the icons on my jeep.

I thought those issues had been addressed.
Plus it would be pretty silly to go above the recommended height anyway IMO

Yes thanks! I heard that when i called icon and asked questions. That they say is the reason these guys bashing Icon are breaking that top hat, Coil Bind. I will be keeping it within Icons recommended adjustments, and i am taking one leaf out of the dakars as I only want 2ish inches in the rear.

Yeah I guess haters need something to hate.
It’s the “not my fault “ mentality !
Guidelines for products are put there for reasons. When you go out of the guidelines you need to be prepared and willing to deal with the fallout $$$$.
But that’s with all products not just limited to Icon.
