Anyone in the Knoxville area want to go ride royal blue here in the next few weeks?

No, didn't finish. Got the front clamshell out and parts swapped. Just need to lift the new clamshell in place and put everything back together. Only had to go to town once for a 12mm Allen socket to get the front clamshell out. Of course from my place that's a 1.5 hour round trip. Got the rear diff swapped, just need to connect the driveshaft, add diff fluid and bleed the rear breaks. Probably not going to finish up today. My back needs some recovery time, most likely finish it next weekend.

 

You ready to do another one in a couple weeks?

I’m still looking for someone with a heated garage for my install party.

 

For the Nashville area folks, I hear tell there’s a place to have driveshafts rebuilt.

Mine is beat all the hell and since I’ve got everything broken down figure I may as well have mine redone now.

Anyone familiar with a local source?

Maybe Grooms?? I've never heard of anywhere local that does it but I know those guys do engine's and transmissions.

 

I just got my recall letter for driveline driveshaft vibration issues. You might want to look into Toyota recall replacement

Check into clinards or dave’s. A buddy has used both for race car driveshafts

Good deal. Hearing that shattered my hopes to turn into locks, but oh well. At least my powder coat won't get eaten up so often on the Bajas

Seriously, soon as mine is put back together your welcome to pull your truck in. Have you ordered a replacement yet? Going to just fix the rear third or upgrade front/rear?

 

The sun was well past setting by the time I took this pic, so both us were waning in our enthusiasm...

 

4.88’s front and rear and an ARB locker are on order.

They said two weeks, so likely late this coming week or early the next.

Just need to find a warm garage to install....
