Boy that secede site isn't biased at all.

I could personally care less if they seceded or not. I wish them the best of luck if they do. They act as if the discussion of it is a major threat to the rest of the U.S. I assure you, secession would be harder for Texas than it would be for the rest of the country.

    Put up or shut up.

I saw a thing on MSN today talking about Rick Perry and he said something along the lines of Texas sucession. there were quotes in there from some guy at the university of colorado, he was obviously a liberal and thinks that all texans are gun toting cowboys and It kind of irritated me.

I tried to link it but the server was to busy to get back to the page. I'll get it up when I can

Better to be a gun-toting cowboy than be branded a hippie.

I think it would be the rest of the country that would suffer if Texas succeeded from the US. You know why we don't have most of the problems with unemployment that the rest of the country has? Do you know why our state budget isn't in as bad of shape as some of the other states(i.e. California)? We have oil and gas here. Most of the imported oil that comes from other countries come through here to be processed, we could then charge the rest of the US however much we wanted. We can grow our own food, we have more cattle than most other states. Texas is self sufficient, and really doesn't need any of the other states to survive and survive well.

Dammit, have they stumbled out of a cloud of pot smoke in Austin and trickled into Round Rock? That's a shame.

According to a Harris Interactive poll, two thirds of Republicans believe Obama is a socialist, while 57 percent believe he is a Muslim, and almost one in four suspect he's the Antichrist

Obviously, that poll wasn't taken seriously by it's participants. I won't argue too much with you on the socialism part. As for the Muslim part, who cares? So what if he is? 99.99% of Muslims are normal people that want to live there normal lives. If you've ever studied religion, you'd know that Christianity and Islam are alike in many, many more ways than they are different. Ideally, a President's religion shouldn't even affect his job. Separation of church and state right? It's written in that Constitution your waving in the air as we speak. Antichrist? Please, man. I don't even believe there is such a thing.

BTW, I don't even like Obama. But in his defense, I don't like any Republicans either. I don't feel either side represents the people they were elected to represent. They all only answer to special interest groups, lobbyists, and what ever crap will get them re-elected. They are all tools. Regardless of what they say, both sides want to tell people how to live their lives (Cons= Abortion/ Libs= guncontrol) and both sides want larger and more powerful government (Cons= Patriot Act/ Libs= Corporate take over).

Ok, flame away. I've donned my fire resistant race suit.:crapstorm:

This stuff is hilarious. Texas is also happy to have its share of government dollars for roads, education, medicare, medicaid, other programs.

I agree with the poster that said it would be a lot harder on Texas than the rest of the union. If you want to go, go. Otherwise, the rest of us would prefer a cessation of whining.

    Anti-christ is its own debate.

As for the Socialism thing, if people think Obama is socialist, they must not know the definition of the word. All I can say is if you called President O a socialist in front of real socialists, you might anger them. I don't agree with many of his programs and large chunks of his agenda, but he's certainly no socialist.

As for him being Muslim, who cares? He's not, and this is well documented, but even if he were, does it matter which system he uses to worship whichever made up dude-in-the-sky he chooses to believe in?
