okay having some issues which ones are the steering cooler relocation brackets? I assume the ones with 2 holess but not sure

The reason why CBI and other companies want you to cut 1/4 inch above the bumper and have a gap is because the bumper and the body will flex differently. If your bumper flexs upward into the fender and the gap doesn't exist you could shift or damage the fender/body.

Update for me and some tips for installation for anyone else reading this.

Body of my truck was off by 1/4". Bumper is offset 1/16", I could adjust it a little more but decided to leave it.
Total body is off from bumper by 3/16", since the bumper is compensating 1/16"

I don't know if OP wants to add this info to first post for those looking for install tips.
Large square zinc washers are for engine bay side of frame to go with 4" bolts going thru frame above sway bar mount for side support bracket.

Large flat washers are for 6 bolts that mount bumper to where factory crash bar was located.

The extra one are to space the bottom of bumper from ears of front frame piece where the 1/2" bolts go. One on each end. Use washers to space in between frame and bumper for height adjustment and to not bend bumper edges next to frame.

You will need to cut trd OR skid plate to fit with bumper.

You dont need to remove plastic damper and cross piece if you have either a wobble attachment for you power tool or if doing it by hand. Take out the whole piece as one.

If you cut the bumper on the vehicle beware of support piece holding on the lower edge of the fenders. You can pull the rest of it apart no problem. The fog lights have a screw and snap into the plastic. Or you can unplug lights and remove from front bumper.

Put a piece of tape or cardboard on edges of grill trim. The painted part near where the bumper hoop is located. It may rub grill trim. ( yes I damaged mine)

Moab bumper instructions from previous tacoma model show some pictures that may help. Sucks as side support brackets. Fog light mounting.

My bumper did not come with license plate mounting holes. You may need to drill your own.

Oh. And I used a dremel multi tool. It's a oscillating cutter. Worked really well to cut the plastic for those of us that don't have an airsaw.

Yeah. Install hand tight then turn fog lights on and adjust as needed. Took just a couple minutes to get them how I wanted.

I know this thread is a little old but I stumbled over this thread since I have the T3 bumper installed. I had a shop locally install it and I didn’t have such a great install experience. They butchered my truck and they cut the bumper cover uneven. Since then I had to purchase a new bumper cover and fender mouldings that I measured out carefully and cut myself. Hopefully it’ll turn out this time around.

Thanks for the info on this thread. Has anyone with Kings have issues installing the support brackets since the sway bar/reservoir brackets mount near the same location?

If you have or plan on installing Kings you just need to let CBI know when ordering. CBI has a different bracket with the reservoir mount incorporated on it.

I’m running BP-51s and the standard CBI provided bracket worked with them.

I think I got it figured out that those plates go underneath the side supports and sit horizontally.

Ive seen cbi bumpers with RCI skids. I have them both coming ill let you know how it goes

Yes they do work together. I just installed my T3 bumper with RCI skids that I've had on.
