LCD screen on my radio is nearly frozen.

 

-10 this morning when I went to get coffee. Thank god I installed a remote start on this silverado.

 

The -14F is with wind-chill

 

I thought usually the temp it displays is without that... Oh well, it is what it is either way.

 

The truck will display actual temp, it has no way of determining wind chill factor.

 

Right. My bad, I mean to say the app... That I thought the app displayed the temp without the wind chill. But guess not.

Having help is priceless, but getting yourself to a good chiropractor will change your life! Or a new snow blower, that’s a solid back saver as well

 

I hate the stupid app... I just want a real time temp...

I know there is a walk through somewhere on TW on how to add it, just dont want to deal with it....

Really I hate the whole head unit in the '15

 

I don't use the app on the head unit. I go by the temp on my Bob's Mirror.

Talking about the app on my phone, sorry.

 

Good afternoon, have to agree with you on that one. Just wish it were real time temp like my other cars. Sometimes it takes forever to get a temp if I’m not in range of and HD signal. It doesn’t update too often either. I can leave Home with a Fall River temp showing and go all the way to Brockton and it never updates.

 

That was indeed the real temps this morning.
It was the coldest I have ever seen in southern Ct.
Bottomed out at -14. The truck said -12 when I went out for fuel at 7:30.
Either way, that's ball cracking cold for a few miles inland.

Baby shower was today. Bed was packed full as was the rear seats. Some stuff so to come since it was shipped and supposedly work is doing one next week

 

How have you like it so far, I've been leaning towards a 100 due to the maintenance factor I've read about. What can you tell me from the 80 series stand point. How has the maintenance been for yours?

 

Look at the gx470s too. It's basically a 4runner with the v8 a and much nicer interior

 

I started off looking at those but decided when you start modding those they look real goofy. The prices for those are actually really affordable for the 2006 and they do come with lots of nice goodies.
Right now I've been focusing on the LX470 and the 100 LC's which is basically the same vehicle only nicer interior features.

 

I like it. Has three rows and feels slightly bigger than my dads old 3rd gen 4Runner. I am working on baselining it and changing all the fluids. The straight six is not a huge powerhouse but does alright. I like that it’s one of the last straight front axle rigs from the factory. The only problem is everything on the truck is 20 years old so lots will need to be replaced to do a lift or any other mod. Also, aftermarket accessories are about twice the price of taco stuff. I think I want to get back in to a Tacoma if possible. The great thing about the 80s is they will run forever as long as you keep up on the maintenance. I have even been thinking about doing the head gasket proactively. Seems if they go it’s between 200 and 250 thousand miles. I am at 185 now. I have an ultra gauge and monitor the coolant temp and it runs fine.

 

What are the years for TR4's?
1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc?
