    As a kid watching videos on VHS, my buddies and I we’re always blown away by you guys in California with all of your pools.

    We had to build half pipes and skate curbs and embankments.

    I miss skating so much. I remember skipping school and heading to the park. Spending my weekends there. Its all I did growing up. I remember trying to figure out where I was going to get my next deck from and how to scrape together money for new shoes. I miss it so much and I remember how snowboarding slowly progressed into the scene and getting into that. Then age caught up to me and I couldn't push it as hard on the pavement so all I did was snowboard. So now 2 Blowin out knees and waiting for surgery I don't know if I'll be able to snowboard like I use to and skating is totally out of the question. In just happy to roll around on a board. But atleast I'll be able to stick to the mellow runs and teach my kids how to snowboard. No more park for me. Getting older sucks

    Oh man this thread gave me a mini stroke. So many memories skating in San Diego. Funny story... Around '86 my Mom owned a business next door to Gullwing when they were in El Cajon. One day we were skating with some older kids and one said they throw their blems in the dumpster. I remember me and my cousin dumpster diving for some trucks... and the few times we did we came up empty. In a weird twist, I now live in Phoenix. Coincidence?

    Big fan of board art. These aren't my pics, but the two favorites from my hey day. Such a sad story about Lopes...
