    You mean the jam nut? If that is rusted on, first soak it in PB blaster over night and try again in the morning. If that doesn't work, gotta use a torch to heat it up. If that doesn't work, sawzall the bastard in half and remove it.

    A few OE parts from fancy trucks
    I usually run the Castile nut to the top of the threads (to protect them) and whack it with a mallet.

    I've occasionally used a pickle fork, but that can be kinda harsh if you're not careful.

    For the more sophisticated, there is a special tool you can probably borrow from a parts house that has a loaner program.

    PB blaster works great for freeing up rusty parts. Spray some into the steering knuckle/tie rod end.

    I have done the Castile nut and PB blaster thing with success. And any Autozone will have the removal tools for rental if you want to go that route. Whatever you do, please let us know how it worked out.

    Make sure the jaws of the puller aren't on the boot. Took one turn of a ratchet on the bolt to pop 'em loose. Good luck!

    Same. Start with a hammer and hit the spindle as pictured above to shock it loose. It that doesn't work I use a pickle fork if the TRE is being replaced since it'll most likely kill the boot or a 2 arm puller if I plan to reuse the TRE.
