Was helping my friend swap things over from his old land cruiser to his new one and his front bumper mounts totally different than mine. Mine slides in a few inches on the frame, his just comes straight up. So when he took out the last bolt I wasn’t expecting it to drop... steel bumper plus 12k steel winch ~180-200lbs.

Every year I think about trying to get a media pass but never follow through. Same with SEMA. And most of my other goals in life:rain:

All the guys I know who have been to both say SEMA is the one to go to. Just bigger and tons more to see. SHOT you see everything worth while online so outside of actually holding it you dont really miss much. Unless you get to go to the media range day.

I haven't been to SHOT for a few years now, mostly because I got tired of seeing the same stuff as previous years that hadn't actually been released yet. SHOT also changed as an experience. Years ago there were tons of parties, swag and good times to be had. Now, you are lucky to get a crappy sticker, and the parties have all but dried up unless you are writing $100,000 POs. I get it, I'm small potatoes, but it makes it hard to spend the money when I don't see the value.

The three best memories of SHOT Show:
2005 - Lightfighter party at the MGM. EPIC!

2007 - Orlando SHOT Show, I had the opportunity to tour the Reed Knight collection (Knight's Armament Company). Incredible, and I had Dan Shea from Long Mountain Outfitters as my tour guide. I've been in this room:

2008 - Back in Vegas, but this time I got to tour the Long Mountain Outfitters operation with Dan Shea. Not quite as impressive as Knight's, but pretty damn close.

May as well post it here too, I'm in search of a 05-07 V6 4x4 part out. Specifically the 5spd auto A750F tranny. With or without the t-case. Mines a ticking time bomb with only options being, low mileage replacement, or a reman, with cost swaying me to a low mileage replacement. If anyone happens to hear/see/find someone parting out a 2nd gen 4x4 auto, with low miles, hollatchaboi.

Well after some sleuthing, I'm being told my available options are narrowed down to tacos 05-07 4x4 autos. Not sure why as they're all the same fricken transmission. Must be something to do with ecus? :notsure:

Pretty much thats what ive heard. Get to see lots of stuff but its kind of the same thing over and over. Especially the last couple years its been more "tactical" stuff like adding threaded barrels and rails and calling it new.

Kind of like the show Rainier Arms put on the last two years up here. Heard it was fun for a bit but literally just all AR vendors basically so same thing over and over.

Bummer to hear about the transmission. I'll keep my peepers browsing for ya.

(insert comedic PS pump reference here)

But really... I'm curious what exactly you do with the truck.

I'm beginning to ask myself what did the previous owner/s did to this truck. I see guys on this forum with 400k and not a single flush on the transmission. One guy finally serviced his at 405k, with no issues. It's been acting goofy since I bought it, and was how I lowballed the prior owner. In reality the $2k I beat him down over the phone with and then the $1500 I beat him down with some more once I got my hands on it, was bound to come back around 180° on me sometime. Its held up for 32k since I bought it 3yrs ago.

In hindsight, don't flush autos. Drain and replace. Or 6spd FTMFW
