    Nice.

I went and looked at this today: https://billings.craigslist.org/cto/d/1996-toyota-tacoma/6419138049.html

Nice guy. Has had it for 10 years. Pretty good truck too. Can't swallow the price though for it.

And the bad news of the day. My front passenger tire is fucked. Cupped to shit. Which is odd as it drives straight..so thats kind of worry some. Going to need an alignment sooner than i thought.

And overall my tires are going bye bye. I'll need a new set this year easily. Almost got 2 years out of them. But only about 30k on them now...kinda disappointing.

I mean, i didn't hate them. Honestly they were very good. Did everything just fine.

Didn't last near as long as I was hoping but the more i thought about it, the more i realized i put on a shit load of miles and some of those were rough dirt miles.

I think i'll go for the Hankook ATMs next. My dad and brother have them and they are great winter tires and also super quite. Idk what size i'll do though.

Yeah they did their job well i think. Considering all the stuff I did, they never really let me down.

Probably Hankook ATMs. Not an offroad tire, but be better for a commute i think.

Part of me though is thinking about the spring when its very muddy...kinda worries me.

Why haven't they made an adaptive tread tire yet damn it!

    Or maybe Falkens...They come in 285/75r17s. Almost a 34x11

Or i could go down to the 275/70s. Damn why are 17s so pricey.

Ko2s are way to expensive. Like wtf. Almost as much as a MTR and that is saying something.

Idk what i'll get at this point. The fact i have to repair the whole front end as it is sucks. Frank's repairs keep get put on the back burner. Who also need some damn tires.

    For Igor?

    New fender
    grill
head light(probably just build retros since i have the crap replacement ones and need better headlights anyways)
bumper(probably just gonna do Relentless. I don't have time and as i nearly hit 3 deer just on friday night...i can't wait)
Possible new core support. Its bent and so is the top of the wheel well that the fender mounts too. Or give it to a body shop...ouch$$$
    Front skid plate
    Timing belt/WP/VC gaskets/Theromstat
    tires

Steering is fine, i replaced the entire steering stuff besides the rack itself two falls ago. Think just needs an alignment after Moab and hitting the deer.

    Frank:

    Fix spindle or replace
    LBJ and bolts
    PS pump
Tweak the engine more so stops pinging
    rebuild t100 axle
Add rear shocks with TC kit, hopefully double bypasses with resi, hydro bump stops
    box rear frame
add gussets to the coil buckets and cam tabs
    redo a lot of wiring
take out subs, downsize, redo interior with sound deadening, plate form for fridge and storage.
    tires.
Either keep wildernest or do a new bed rack with canvas

    Plenty to do...

Barely getting the shop setup and need to invest in a lot of tools now too.

No i did the steering before i did the MUD trip.

    OEM outer tie rods
    555 inners
    OEM LBJs
    Poly rack bushings

Id like to add the cam tab gussets too. Those are just supposed to help hold the aligment a lot better. Was planning on doing that when/if i did new coil overs and UCAs id do the LCA bushings.

    yeah it does suck.

I think they would help. Unless you go it and all it is your toe is always out. Thats just steering rack abuse.

Or buy the tools and do it in your garage. Not as fast but once you get good at it not too bad. Takes some time but worth it in the long run. What i plan on doing.

I wish. Id milk the shit out of that.

    But 2 problems for me.

    1) no firestone anywhere around here.
    2) I've read that they don't work on LT trucks for some reason..

Yeah jealous. Would love that, so long as the techs weren't morons. Mike has that and pretty sure he gets home from a trip. Washes the truck. Then gets it aligned haha

Well okay. Not the rack itself persay, although it can jump teeth..which would mean your rack was just fucked to begin with.

But i mean our trucks racks are in a terrible spot vs say the 2nd gen rack. Ours our behind the wheels, theirs is in front. THe forces are different(push vs pull) but ours takes a lot of abuse. Every trip you do knocks it out even just a bit. Because of where the rack is its more susceptible to abuse with every single bump and hole smacking the rack.

And by rack i guess i mean the tie rods too. As a whole. Thats why the toe can get knocked out on our trucks so easy.

I now I've had alignments where it was fine except the toe.

You can add a rack slider to help absoub the impacts. But I've never gotten a straight answer on how they work or how to build one. All people tell me is a tube within a tube attached to the ITRE with bushings to slow the impacts down...which to me sounds like it would slow the steering down over all. Something some race truck dudes do. But idk really.

Does Sears still offer a lifetime alignment? Of course, that relies on Sears still being around, but when I looked into it, in the places I think I'll be living, there were more Sears, so I went that route. (Looking on their site, I don't see lifetime anymore...you may have to ask at a Sears.)
