Another trip to the same old place, but I kinda enjoy writing these so :cookiemonster:
Today was fun, got to explore some new trails and found a couple challenges for myself personally. This trip was just @Subway4X4 @JCjeeper and I, we met up at the usual spot at 8:30am, @Manual man74 met us as well to hand the tires off so I can get them back south for @Arcticelf , with the tires loaded up, we set off.
We decided to just kinda wing it this trip, I was leading and lloyd had tailgunner, we started off with some trails we hit last week with HHG but in reverse. Not far down the trail I was surprised to see we had to lay some fresh tracks. I guess no one was ballsy enough to hit the good stuff yet. I gotta say a lot of these trails look way steeper covered in snow, but nothing we couldn't handle. We didnt have any trouble going down these but my A/C belt decided to explode at some point on this trail and was caught up in the fan. I stopped at the end of the trail and got it all out and we proceeded.

We then went down an icy stream for quite awhile. It seems like I was the only one who was having problems on this trail. not far into it after going down a short length of the new route I was having problems getting up a bank, was slipping on a couple boulders under the front driver tire and rear passenger tire and then got caught up on the diff, after a few failed attempts to correct my line, took an off camber line to the right and got through. Then we came across a small frozen waterfall I guess you could say, I originally was trying to go around it but everything was solid ice and there were steep banks all around so I ended up having to go straight up the little waterfall. Then, probably 100 feet down we hit another obstacle, a massive tree down. (you can see the tree behind jeremy in the 3rd pic) It wasn't across the trail but it was an
extremely tight fit to get under it. I didnt even want to attempt it because the only way through would be taking the high side of a bank and potentially sliding straight into it. Lloyd coerced me into trying it and I got about halfway under before realizing Id inevitably slide into it. We found a way around it and went on. After that it was smooth sailing until the end of the trail. It was hard to recognize where exactly the trail was so I was pausing quite a bit to evaluate the terrain a bit. (Sorry its so wordy, wish I got more pics)

Went down trails we've been down a billion times, lloyd got high centered and had to be winched a bit to get over, lloyd and jeremy were sliding a ton going up a steepish slick rock face, kind of sketch with a large drop off just to the right. Apparently it was around this point that my CB decided to not work so well, lloyd and Jeremy could hardly hear me and I couldn't figure out what the issue was... Decided to stop at the end of the trail for lunch. Lunch was quick again, lloyd provided soup and a sandwich, basically the same lunch we had with HHG. Jeremy and I listened to lloyds many life achievements and experiences while having some piping hot soup.

With plenty of time left we decided to go down some larger trails we did a handful of times before. Found some great views and lots of ups and downs. At the end was a nice little camping set up we were all intrigued by.

Going back I had some trouble getting up a hill with some rock faces on it, I tried the same line twice with a nice running start, second gear in low, and didnt make it. Changed lines and went second gear again and got up with lots of juice. Lloyd and Jeremy followed with no problem and we headed out.

Fun day, bummer we didnt have more people, but had a good time as usual. Was nice to get the truck out there again as its been awhile since the last trip I had the truck.

I think you can, but I also know there is risk that if the compressor seized you need to rebuild the whole AC system. It's because of that fact that I haven't gone into figuring mine out yet. It's high priority for me this year, 2 years without AC blows.

Lol I have a DD so it's really not a big deal, but it would be really nice for summer wheeling.

Haha well now I have CO2 and OBA anyway so it would be pointless to have a 3rd OBA system. :p

AC work is a bitch and the parts are expensive. Aftermarket AC compressors aren't reliable and freon obviously isn't cheap.
