    ScanGauge ii - Question

I am in the market for a ScanGauge ii. From what I can tell its one size fits all (OBDII vehicles). There may be a few codes I have to enter to customize it (for a 2014 Tacoma Sport), but there is only one model.

Yes, they are all the same. Just make sure you get the Scangauge II in the red packaging. Don't get the E in the green package or the D in the orange package.

The SCII does not care what model truck you have. It only ask engine size and year.

I bought the MX 1.3 version since it gave me the option to have transmission temperature.

The XGauge codes for Tire Pressure/Temperature should work on any TPMS equipped 2006+ Tacoma. The XGauge codes require the latest firmware (Version 4.50) to work, but we'd be happy to update anyone's ScanGauge to the lastest firmware for free so they could test the XGauge codes out. Anyone interested in a free update can PM me here and I'll get you set up with a free update.

Here are the codes for anyone who has a 4.50 ScanGauge:

    2006 - 2014: https://www.scangauge.com/x-gauge-commands/toyota-lexus-scion-iso-tpms/

    2015 - 2018: https://www.scangauge.com/x-gauge-commands/toyota-lexus-scion-can-tpms/

If anyone has any questions, just let me know.

    Wow,
That is a great offer James! How many manufacturers would offer that for free?? I could not live without the Scangauge in my 2007. I love it! Having the TPMS codes would be awesome

    Thank you!

No problem - happy to do it. The TPMS XGauges are relatively new, so it's always good to test it out on as many Toyota's as we can.

Also, just out of curiosity is there anything else you all would be interested in monitoring with the ScanGauge? I'll look into anything, and if it's possible to get it reporting on the ScanGauge I'll do my best to get it working.

I bought my Scangauge primarily for transmision temp, so up to now having 3 other things showing on the screen was just a plus. Now that we can do tpms pressure and temp on each tire, that makes a whole bunch of things to monitor. I haven't played around with it much, but is it possible to have multiple screens that are easy to switch between? 4 tire pressures, 4 tire temps, trans temp+ extras, etc

Oil pressure would be nice, if possible. Being able to switch between screens, as Muddinfun said, would be nice. I was considering buying a whole separate TPMS system, but I like this better. It will eat the whole screen thugh.

Agree with Badger, my gauge screen currently is avg mpg, current mpg, mph, and rpm. What would be really nice would be a TPMS pressure screen displaying all 4 tires on the ground, and a TPMS temperature screen, also the 4 tires on the ground, and an over-ride to check the spare (even though relatively few of us have a sensor in the spare).

I believe there is no oil pressure sensor for the engine-does Toyota have a sensor for engine oil temp?

I looked at purchasing a ScanGauge last night at Autozone for the 119 price but would like to purchase one with version 4.5 already installed.

Is there a way to tell the firmware version from looking at the package?
