This is an all IMO comment (and i have TRX in wallets)...

TRX is weird. Its kind of one you want to be cautious of but the Founder is active enough and says the right things to comfort people. Not enough to really cause tons of growth all the time. Some partnership announcements will cause those though (ie when it was 1600ish). It did jump from ~500 to 1700 though. Where it sits not is still double where it was which is quite good to be maintaining.

If you missed it the founder of LTC kind of called TRX out on twitter. Some other dude had ripped their whitepaper apart as nothing but "copying others". Justin Sun was FAST in responding explaining he would send the Mandarin (i think its madanrin) verision which wasnt the same but due to poor translations was the reason. Then went on to talk about opening a San Fran office and the english side would be better. Basically taking a damning retween into a somewhat positive.

Right now I want to believe in TRX. Would i give everythign on it....ehhhhhh right now im feeling like its a lot of talk and deals and not actual product

I was looking into adding a 6 1060 miner today. Talked myself out of it due to the price lol. Some of the WTB's on bitcointalk are crazy. People wanting 50+ antminer's for instance (2.5k a pop) or 50+ 570's/1070's

Is there a mining thread? If not there should be. I keep reading up on it but it's a lot to wade through even for a technonerd. Why would someone sell them if they're profitable?

We have talked mining every now and then in the thread. A good way to look at mining is like a savings account. You know you will make X amount a day (for the most part). Or you could invest and its like the stock market. So you could make Y amount. So its sort of a you make a steady amount over a month and hope prices stay pretty steady. Or you take that same amount and invest it and potentially make a shit ton more.

Its kind of like Eth mining a few months ago. People would have called you silly to invest in mining cause it was so cheap to just buy.

I'm interested, have cheap power, lots of space that I can make 747 noises in, and fiber interwebz. I have been looking at an antminer S9, or considering a DIY setup to start. What pool are you in? What is most profitable to mine in your opinion? I understand that you don't do it on a small scale for profits, but because you believe in and want to contribute to the network, but I also don't want to lose my ass. The Hashrate demands are getting crazy and my concern is that the tech will be useless in 6 months at a small scale, what do you think?

First off...one of the guys i follow and respect is Voskcoin. He has a youtube and is worth checking out IMO. If you can watch one of his videos i think you can watch any of them lol. But he covers quite a bit...but not the like annoyingly indepth.

The antminer S9 is good. I want to say its making 40-50 a day and has a ~3 month ROI. But its got an "expected" lifespan of around 12 months. They are also a pain in the butt to get IMO.

As for pool i have done both individual coin mining and am now on miningpoolhub which is an "autoswitiching" pool. Single coin mining is good if you believe in a coin. When i started i believed in ETN (electroneum) and mined quite a bit of it just to hold. Which paid out recently. I mined it at ~.08 cents each. it recently shot up to 18 cents a share and i sold it at 17. Miningpoolhub is a bit different in rather than focusing on one coin, it will switch algorithms and coins to the most profitable every so often. So instead of getting 2 coins of Coin X at $1 you might get 8 coins that all make up $2. but it has an auto exchange to conver thtose 8 coins into the coin of your choice.

What is most profitable to mine......thats the $1 million question.

As for tech getting "old"....lets just say 4 year old GPUs are making a killing it still. As ebay and other sites will show. where else is 4 year old tech getting near purchse price from when released lol

as power end user cost...i just factor a straight $200 on my end. be it power or whatever. You could do calcs. to figure it out but i figure 200 gives me power and misc crap money

I’ve been following up on it. The dude Charlie from Ltc apologized too. Seems like latest news has China backing that guy Justin Sun. Either way looking to see it spike to .50 and cash out on a .09 hold

I ddnt see an true apology other than more of a "o ok you have it in another language so ill drop it" kind of deal. I though Charlie Lee did well kind of raising concern and then extinguishing the concern once Justin responded

yeah... the cryptofinance bit is something some guy wrote as an addin for google sheets to query the different api s of the exchanges.
I got most of it working again, but there are a few errors saying "way too many requests. IP banned until...."
What I'm not certain of is if my sheet generated too many requests, or the dude's addin generated too many requests. I'm guessing it's the later but something pissed binance's api off

Their current published withdrawal fee for TRX is 30TRX (updated 1/4/18)
    That should be about $4.50
Are you sure you mathed right?

As for the spreadsheet, since it was binance's api that was pissed, I changed it to the generic query which pulls from coinmarketcap. Just a couple errors now.

I just started to make a withdrawal of TRX using the app on my phone and it said it was going to charge me 76TRX. so around $10?

Kinda jacked that they are more than doubling their published rate o_O
