I received my letter 01/04/18. I had my drive shaft replaced 12/09/15 due to the symptoms described in the letter. I am in the process of submitting all of the information requested in said letter. This will be a 4-6 week process once receiving the information to determine whether or not I deserve compensation.
    Will keep TW posted.

There was a similar thread to this about the leaf spring recall recently. Seems to be hit-or-miss for reimbursement. Be sure to include any paperwork from when your drive shaft was replaced.

    Good luck OP.

My truck had the symptoms described in the letter. I didn't think much of it at the time considering the mileage, (221,000) I figured normal wear and tear. Though the letter also reads 'regardless of mileage', so I figured there's hope of reimbursement for the $1300.00. I mailed the information today which included proof of ownership for vehicle, VIN, name/address on all documents, receipt and dealer paperwork of work done, proof of payment for vehicle.
    'Fingers crossed'...
    To be continued...

From what I've read on other threads, your SOL if the suspension isn't stock.

You paid 1300 bucks for 60 bucks of u joints and a 60-120 dollar carrier bearing that needed to be replaced at 221k miles?..... lawdy jezus. Hell even factor in a proper balancing of the shaft for 150-200 bucks...... you, got, shafted. haha get it.

No need to replace the shaft unless its bent (which it likely wasnt in your case). Toyota simply does not replace the ujoints they just replace the whole shaft as its easier on their end.

Copy that, but I am guessing the the whole shaft would cost 600-800 bucks ?

    I think it's just 2005-2011. Not 2015.
