Mine is at 62 just about 24/7 because we are hardly home during the day and it's not worth turning up when we get home just to turn down when we go to sleep. Weekends sometimes it will get turned up to 65.

    Morning all!

Doesn't that throw codes onto the dashboard? I know that with mine if the connection is loose, a light is out, etc. it'll throw a warning up on the dash and ding the cabin chime (way more annoying than the stop/start feature would be). It's part of why I paid the dealer to wire in my truck cap, since you can't tap off of the brake wire from the trailer harness without throwing trailer errors on the dash.

Correction - these are the temps when I'm home (weekends). During the work week it's set at 62 during the day. Programmable thermostat kicks it up to 66 just before I get home from work.

So do I, but the thermostat is set at 62 during the day and overnight, and 65 when we're home.

It shouldn't. It's a trailer light tester so it truly does have a loading and should fool the truck into thinking there's a trailer attached. Shouldn't be any different than having a trailer hooked up full time.

If yours is like mine, there's a wire under the hood for the brake light that you use for the cap. It was really easy to hook up. You just extend that wire so you don't have to tap the brake light (which you can't unless you want it to blink with your directional).

@jztacoma - jelly of that big smooth parking area.
You folks turning your heat up & down, so aspirational.
My place is lath & plaster with NO insulation. I experimented & it's actually cheaper to just leave the heat high than to adjust it; what I really do is maintain the temperature of the plaster. Guess it's similar to living in an uninsulated concrete house. Nice to see so many people in the 60's F, I would have expected everyone to have said 70 - 72F.

My wife would like it colder haha. We use a portable AC as a fan in our room in the winter because she gets so hot sleeping at night.

Tapping into the brake lights throws an error code on the new trucks too, according to the internet. The cap place said that on the '15 and newer trucks they don't have that underhood stub, so he tapped into the 3rd brake wiring behind the cabin paneling instead.

My thermostat settings are mostly irrelevant anyway. Doesn't matter what they're set at; the house is never really that close to kicking the boiler on anyway. Even with the really cold weather we've had over the last few weeks, it almost never kicked on.
    Because

Man can I come stay with any of you guys? I grew up with 65 being the max the house was set at my GF feels that 69-70 is an ice box.....:frusty: Maybe I can just send her to @DoubleRGirl for heat and dogs.

We have a have a gas fireplace that we tried running for the month to help the electric heat and our bill went up $200 while the electric stayed the same. Big 'ol waste of money there

    Morning All:pccoffee:

haha its just big enough I can whip the truck and trailer around to pull a U-turn.

I actually just moved into an uninsulated concrete house haha I shoot for 68-70. when it got super cold this weekend it was just maintaining 65-66. Plan for the spring is the attached 1" foam board with R-foil on it, and then 1/2" sheet rock it
