Yeah, for supplemental heat like that a pellet stove has a propane/nat gas unit beat. Fuel is cheaper, can install one pretty much anywhere, and you don't have to worry about it blowing your house up.

 

Had a pellet stove in the last house. Doesn't run when the electric goes out. When the power was out for a week I was not pleased to be living w/ 2 useless heating systems. If you get/have a pellet stove, I'll just encourage anyone to get a backup battery to keep it going in a power outage.
Best I can tell, my 1940's (?) gas boiler is only subject to the battery in the T-stat, & paying the gas bill.

My house is at 60, day and night. Never changes. Heat set at 60, summer, winter... whenever.

 

Don't you need electricity for the water pump?

True about pellet stoves, but the decent ones can run 3-4 days on a deep cycle battery if the power goes out.
Personally, I just use mine as a supplement for shoulder season heating or cold mornings, since the woodstove keeps the house comfortable all on its own.

If I had options to change stuff I definitely would but it's the price to pay for living in an apartment

I've actually been drooling over this one for the last couple of days, lol. Fantasizing about putting a V-plow on it so I don't have to make 60 passes down my driveway pushing the snow back and forth. It's a little high for the year, but it's also from a dealer so you have to expect that markup.

Hopefully not for the winter. 2wd dually would absolutely suck in the snow unless you really, really load it down.

 

If I plan go to bed early, I have to remember to turn the thermostat down manually in advance because 66 is way too hot for me to sleep.

If we get out of our group, I think we have a decent chance at making it pretty far because of the way the matchups work in the knockout stage.

Making it out of the group is going to be tough... there are no easy games, no hacks anymore... Morroco is good, Iran is good, and spain... I fucking HATE spain. Good thing is that the hardest game in the group is our first game, so that should set the tone for the next two games.

Do you know what Portuguese border town they are close to? Where I'm from is not too far from the border... maybe about an hour or so I think.

 

I like my wood stove insert for that reason. Don't need power to load logs in it. When I lose power the blower fans don't run, but it'll still do a decent job keeping the room it's in and a couple of adjacent rooms nice and toasty.
