Western doctors are not used to seeing African type diseases, so they miss them. Not necessarily a bad doc, they just don't know. A mine I worked in in sub-Sahara Africa (2003) would do blood work on everyone before you could leave the site and check you for malaria (mainly) and other local diseases and would not release your flight approval until you were medically cleared. Then they gave you a kit with injections in it, in case you came down with malaria type symptoms. They did this because they had lost some expat workers that died once going home on leave and the local (western) doctors just didn't expect or recognize the symptoms. Yeah, but a ball the size of grapefruit that explodes, you would think that someone would of got in front of that with a biopsy or sumting....:boom:

It’s a Fairmont RQ engine. They were sold as railway engines for maintenance of way equipment. Some have been found on farms mounted to hand carts for the same work that hit and miss engines would do.

Now that I’ve outed myself, anyone looking for a restored 1935 John Deere Model B tractor?

Lots of antique farm equipment in my life. Father collected Keck Gonnerman steam engines and different gas engines. He was active in the American Threshermans association for years and managed the belt driven saw mill that still runs today.

With all of that going on it was easy to learn about them. I myself don’t collect any of it but if I did, it would be Chicago Pneumatic diesel hit and miss engines. The John Deere is a project that I worked on for a few years but can’t use anymore due to my disability as I can’t crank the flywheel with one arm as the B’s didn’t have the cylinder pressure relief petcock that allot of the larger bore tractors had.

Once it’s gone I’ll finish a 1953 Farmall Super C and use the three blade belly mower for it to help take care of the 11 acres we own.

But serious about selling the John Deere.
