Has anyone had their driveshaft shortened? How much should I be expecting to pay?

I'm trying to figure out if I should buy a new driveshaft or just shorten my PreRunner one to fit the transfer case.

I'm curious as to what would be cheaper or better.

Can be anywhere from 200-600 a drive shaft depending on the drive shaft.

Damn... I might just have to buy an OEM shaft then.

I can get your shocks knocked out but there is a guy in UT that does rebuilds and revalving. You would save 2-3 days shipping each direction. PM me if your still interested.

I mean look to see if there is a local drive shaft shop. Could be a 100 bucks as you're doing just one shaft.

Its always cheaper to get them shortened. Think I only paid 100 bucks if that to have the rear one between the tcase and carrier bearing. But also paid like 450 to have a 1310 cv built for the front with a long spline shaft.

hopefully a full axle if your trying to swap. E locker diff will not swap into a non locker housing without some modification.

Yeah, it was the whole Carrier, or 3rd member. These yards, they don't keep tabs on what has and hasn't been sold.

Stock for now, factory locker, gray wire mod, chrome rims came on it and will be leaving soon(painted or otherwise!).
4wd quit working today, no clicks or actuation when I hit the button. Checked the fuse and it's good, ADD got replaced last winter and since I'm not hearing any noise when I hit the button I'm thinking relay perhaps? Anyone know which relay of be looking for?

I have a brand new 4x4 switch if thats what you end up needing. My 4x4 stopped working when i first bought my truck. Toyota said i needed that switch and a new ADD. Replaced the ADD and it worked. Of course toyota wouldnt refund me for the switch. Go figure.....

4wd relay when out on me. Just needed cleaned.

Mine was under the passenger kick panel on my 96. Popped the cover off and cleaned the contacts. Worked perfect.

I’m assuming 03 and 04 throttle bodies are compatible? The throttle body on my 03 motor is going out and I found a 04 replacement. Just double checking it will do.

03/04 are controlled by a servo and only have the cable for 1/4 throttle plate movement in case of limping home. If the servo goes you replace the whole throttle body because there is no replacement part.

Put some fresh oil in and checked the bolts on my valve covers and discovered that they were extremely loose. Torqued them down and now I’m off to the store to get some cleaner to clean up all the oil.
