Field and Forest Recreation Area in Harrisville. Check out one of their open weekends to just camp or wheel their trails if you've got 33s and lockers.

Also camped at Shir-Roy in Fitzwilliam. Very close to good trails in Swanzey.

The 4x4 trails are on the campground? Or can you just camp anywhere you want in the recreation area and yoy gotta find the trails?

If you are ok with State Park Campgrounds then Pillsbury State Park in Washington, NH is awesome.

    yep..
Every time I head up to the Mt. Washington area I stay at Dolly Copp, brook loop.. I think site 85. Nice and quiet and has an awesome granite brook running through the site.

Would be nice to hear of some secluded sites/pull offs in this area.

The trails on campground property are HARD. They post when open weekends are on their Facebook page. When I wheeled my Tacoma I just camped on site for $15 a night and then wheeled local class 6 roads. I have wheeled on the property with my jeeps in the past. The campground has a lot of nice secluded grove sites and open field camping too, plus a decent bath house.

    Too much.
Moose Hillock is great for kids and adults. I stumbled through that place one night blind drunk and was shocked at how huge it was, and marveled at the fact that I made it back to my site without falling/tripping or vomiting. Crazy Horse is pretty nice up in Littleton, my BIL is seasonal there.

For hike in, I'm a big fan of 13 Falls (enter in Lincoln, NH). Also, I used to see a ton of traffic/camping at the Tripoli Rd sites off of exit 31.

We did a lot of trailer camping to KOA in Woodstock, and was seasonal there one year. We have a place up in Andover now right along the rail trail that we set up for our camper, but me and the kids just hammock while the wife sleeps in the trailer.....

13 Falls is a great site. I hiked through there after hiking the Franconia Ridge and wish I had my tent to stay there.

I havent been to dollycopp since i was like 11 years old, same with moose hillock but im not tryna hear crying babies that shit drives me nuts at camp. The barebones ones are very interesting, could be a fun trip for the boys. I haveyet to camp at franconia ridge but have been to the falls for a full day and stayed nearby in a campsite that cost us like 20 bucks for 6 people. All this talk of wheeling built into the campground sounds SWEET though and i am totally down for that.

So the trails arent always open? Do we have to wait till they post that they are open? Or can i just pay to camp and its all legal fair game from there on? Should do a tacomaworld trip camp/wheeling thing like we have tried to do so many times but failed.

It great, weather can be semi unpredictable and using google earth you can usually find a class 6 road or a trail entrance for a bit of fun and adventuring
