Motortrend said it borderline sucks, people test driving it will feel the same, thus no sale.
    Bottom line.
Sounds like a lot of salesman talk going on in that comment.

Thus no sale? Good thing I'm not trying to sell you the truck, I guess.

If someone talking about general vehicle driving characteristics that doesn't put your preferred truck on a pedestal sounds like salesman talk, I feel like you'd reel away from an actual salesman like a vampire from sunlight.

Off road the diesel does work well as it delivers more usable torque at all speeds and especially at low speeds where the Toyota engine isn’t so stellar. Most of your trickier off roading is done at low speed this is where the diesel will shine.

I somewhat agree with you and your stance on GMC/Chevy. I agree that Toyota doesn't give much on the Tacoma because it sells. Now just think if people would not purchase and walk off the Toyota dealership. I never understood why someone wants a vehicle so bad they are willing to pay basically what the dealership wants. I walked out of a couple of Toyota dealerships back in 2006 when I bought my Tacoma. Finally found a dealership that did not have a bunch of add-ons and was willing to deal.

This is a false statement. Differential leak yes. Engine problems? What engine problems? The transmission "hunting" is a characteristic, not a problem. I'm so sick of people putting out their opinion and then saying there is a "problem". You don't like it, then that's a different story.

Remind me how reliable Chevys are?

I think chevy gets a bad rap for there older vehicles... my last car was a chevy volt, loved it. Not a single problem the entire time of ownership. I would absolutely in the future buy another gm product without hesitation.... That said I do like the Tacoma

Too bad that rating doesn't have much influence on actual sales.

The worst parts of GM are still there. They still lie straight to your face while trying to cover up flaws in their vehicles. My 2015 Yukon is the most expensive vehicle I have bought, and it is by far the biggest piece of shit. GM is still covering things up even after the whole Cobalt ignition fiasco. It is their culture.

No, they just had saddlebag gas tanks on the outside of the frame that exploded when hit turning the occupants into crispy critters. But no recall. Why? Because the bean counters at GM decided it would be cheaper to pay off the victims family rather than issue a recall.

The problem isn't the tranny flash. The problem is well documented and Toyota hasn't done anything to fix it.

Glad to see at least some dealers lowering prices. Maybe the demand has finally dropped off or production picked up. For the first year or two, every time I visited a dealer, they were unwilling to do anything below MSRP. They all think that every Tacoma is like a Ford Raptor or something.

You are right. However, just because fanboys THINK they are winning by arguing with emotion, doesn't mean they are actually winning.

My definition IS NOT based on 2 years. 2 years is all the data we have. I have explained that like 3 times now. In 10 years, we can come back to this thread and compare based on 10 years of data. For now, 2 is all we have. If you have a crystal ball showing the future values, go ahead and show everyone.

Once again, 10 years is not an accurate comparison. BOTH (as I have said 20x now) of these trucks are completely remodeled from what they were 10 years ago.
