The shitty part to that tho? If we have a ton of above average days even after that snow, it will be a warmer than average winter. I should have been in weather, only job you can massively eff up and STILL get your paycheck!

I think you are correct- I did not see any of the acorn bottom husks- just saw a few.

Someone I know may have 50 lbs of pecans in the back of their RAV. Not saying any names.

 

I'm torn on this. They look like small chestnuts, maybe horse chestnuts, but in the middle pic he first posted you can see the cupule on the ground here and there.

Edit: And it looks like the orange rings are from where the cupules separated on the nuts themselves. Water oak is what I am going with.

They don't have those husk looking thing. And they don't have a hat on them.

I thought someone called them "pea something".
But I never got a confirmation. I guess I could take some to a landscaping place and ask them.
