    before I go tearing into the engine and removing valve covers, I want to be 100% sure that all I need to do for the UCON isntall (without the S/C) is do the exhaust cam gears, thermostat, and injectors (and of course the UCON itself).

    Talkin to gadget...it was kind of a nonchalant "yea yea, that should be it" and with having to work M-F and it being my DD, I always make sure I have a plan laid out and I just didnt get the best warm and fuzzy after talking to him. I'll be the one left without a vehicle, not him haha so I have a little more invested in this part going smooth; thats all.

    The thermostat, injectors and UCON install are not that bad. The cam gears are not difficult, but will require a hefty wrench to break the bolts loose, while keeping the cam stationary. I'd reserve a day for the install, and maybe have a mechanic friend on call if possible.

    I installed the front intercooler (fmic) crank pulley, intercooler pump and hoses (which I know you are going to re-route), etc. prior to install of sc. Just browse through the instructions and do EVERYTHING you can that won't take your truck out of service before the sc install. As Voodoo stated, thermo, UCON, injectors, and gears don't take that long but you could even do thermostat on a separate day prior to sc install. That way all you would have to do on sc install day is ucon, gears, and injectors.
    Someone correct me if I'm wrong here...tossed a few back tonight.

    Truck is in the shop. Mechanic says he's tried 5 different belts, one of which URD. Belt is slipping right at mid-range. Thoughts?

    Question, you did the bypass valve jet mod right? Are you still running it that way?

    What size pulley are you running now?

    RIP mod may not be necessary if I know what size pulley you got.

    The 69.5" belt did not fit my 2.8 pulley. Not sure if I should be concerned. For now I put the old belt back on. Still need to put the fan back on and add oil to the SC before starting it.

    So, my misfire problem isn't going away... Sorry to say you may have been right @12TRDTacoma

    It's worse when the engine is cold, has only thrown a code once a few weeks ago (cylinder #4). Since it's not throwing a code all the time, how do I go about trouble shooting the underlying problem?

    Also, which cylinder is #4?
